  1. Review titled Let down by practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was referred here via the NHS 111 service. I can’t fault the speed at which I received the appointment, nor the reception team at all, they were polite and understanding through the full process. However, alarm bells started ringing as I entered the practice and waited for my appointment and I noticed patients before me being churned out in a matter of 1 or 2 minutes. My whole appointment was extremely rushed and I felt that I was not at all listened to by the dentist. I felt he was quite rude and dismissive of me as I was trying to explain my symptoms. I was palmed off with antibiotics, despite me telling the dentist I felt like the tooth needed filling/taking out. I was then told that the only thing they could do was extract it which would be an 8-10 week wait despite me saying I’m at the point now where I can’t eat because of it. Both myself, the patient before and the patient after me were all prescribed antibiotics. And, while I don’t know the details of their situations, definitely, in my case it seems that antibiotics were prescribed in lieu of any real treatment options. It seems they are trying to get people in and as quickly as possible. I left feeling extremely upset as I had not been listened to at all by the dentist and there had been no compassion from them. I have since had to arrange the extraction privately as I am unable to wait 8-10 weeks to get the tooth removed. It’s very disappointing that this is a practice that the 111 Service chose to use as I feel it is a disservice to those that need an emergency appointment and have little other choice.

  2. Review titled Emergency Appointment Ask for another Surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was given an emergency appointment to see the Dentist. He explained that it was very limited in what he could do for me. It was explained I needed a crown and several filling because I was grinding my teeth. The dentist was unable to do the crown for me I would have to find a dentist? I asked how? He had no answer. A basic filling and proscription was given to me. I was charged £75+ for the 5 mins experience and X ray was taken but not reviewed or looked at. It was daylight robbery. This Emergency service needs to be closed as they are taking advantage of people who desperately need help. I believe the serious of my issues I could of been redirected to specialist to get my teeth reviewed and sorted. Instead I am back at square one looking for a dentist.

  3. Review titled Total Scam Artist and No Respect

Rated 1 star out of 5

So the doctor I went to go see today at Clifton Gardens was on an emergency appointment via the 111 which usually cost about £30. Keep in mind I have used this service often, as it's impossible to get signed up to a dentist, for tooth extractions, root canals and fillings in the past which has always cost me around £30. For whatever reason this lovely chap decided that price tag would be set to £70.70 and when I quizzed this fact due to the implication I've never had to pay that high before - I was basically told to leave. This is totally disgusting that they're trying to charge almost £40 above what the NHS 111 site established.

  4. Review titled Poor experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended today in a lot of pain. My issue isn’t with the dentist or the nurse it’s with the receptionist. I was informed after seeing the dentist I would need to rebook for 2 weeks time. She doesn’t have an appointment for 2 weeks time and will have to cancel someone else to get me in. I asked if she had anything for 1 weeks time. She then said are you not listening I have to bump someone for you. I’m trying to help you here no need to be horrible. I will ring you. Ok well I may not answer as I’m going to be in hospital for a few days. Again was told she was trying to help me and no need to be horrible. At this stage I was upset and in a lot of pain. I asked for the amount I owe so I can get out. I was then accused of been awkward because I wouldn’t hand her my payment card. I had just said I was going into hospital and she didn’t even think that maybe I had more on my mind then her having to bump someone to do me a favour. Well it’s hardly a favour seen as I pay for my treatment anyway. This isn’t the first time me and this receptionist have had an issue. Once I have completed my treatment I will be looking to switch to another dentist even if I now have to go out of area because the young lady’s attitude stinks and I personally have had enough of it.
