Having broken a tooth the previous day I phoned the surgery at 9.30 the next day to try to get a emergency appointment and got booked in at 10.35 that day. My dentist and her nurse were so nice and put me at ease immediately and continued to throughout the extraction of tooth. Sore mouth for 24hrs but great now. Thank you very much to m and k

Having had a molar tooth extraction at Colchester's 'dental hospital' in the morning, I experienced bleeding 4 hours later, which I was unable to control. I went without prior booking an appointment to my usual dentist's surgery in Sudbury, and was seen at the end of this dentist's list. Not my usual dentist. He was brilliant.

I needed urgent dental treatment at short notice due to impending chemo treatment. They saw me straight away and carried out all the treatment required brilliantly and sympathetically which meant that my chemo was able to go ahead as planned.

From check in to check out, the staff at Damira Dental Service were excellent. They were friendly, polite and helpful. The dentist and dental nurse explained everything about my treatment and aftercare. They made me feel comfortable and at ease during my treatment which was reassuring. I am of the opinion that I received a very professional and excellent service during my appointment.

I have been going to this dentist for approx 28 years and never had a problem until, I had to make an emergency app. The dentist I saw was 40 minutes behind (not the 10 minutes that was advised when I arrived and I therefore had to go unpaid for an hour at work. The dentist didn’t listen to a thing I was telling them. Which made it was infuriating to explain whilst I didn’t have a plate in so struggling to talk. I asked if I could pay for a new plate because I couldn’t go a week without my plate but I was denied? But I had the tooth out and new plate made previously so I know I could have had this. No help was given advising any other options. I felt ashamed when the dentist starting belittling me about how to brush my teeth. I am aware how to brush my teeth, I didn’t ask for my ex to knock my teeth out, but thank you for reminding me about that trauma! This isn’t a tooth brushing issue! I was in so much agony I wasnt offered antibiotics (I later discovered I had an infection) the dentist kept shrugging at me as I was getting more distressed about the whole situation. The dentist then tried to put my plate in and when I asked them not to because the root was exposed and extremely swollen and sore, they ignored me and continually pushed it into place! Then when it came to booking for the procedure I was told April.. because the two apps had to be a week apart, I couldn’t have the impressions done and then drop my plate off a week before the procedure. I was also told I couldn’t have a different dentist either. The whole ordeal was so upsetting I cried at the desk. I ended up going private - was recommended another dentist from a friend, I got an app the afternoon of the same day, tooth out and my plate back midday the next day. To a sum of £280 which was cheaper then the option I asked for originally and denied at Damira. Not sure if it’s because I’m an NHS patient but I couldn’t have felt more of an inconvenience to that dentist. £60 for an app to be made to feel like that? Never again
