Had an abscess on my gum. My throat was swelling and Was told to ring at 8.30 next morning for an emergency appointment, both myself and my wife called, we were 1st and 2nd in queue. After 45 minutes someone answered to then be told there were no appointments!! After complaining they said I could go to their sister practice in Longbenton. Saw the dentist there for the briefest amount of time, I explained the swelling, the prescribed me antibiotics, no treatment. Seemed as if they wanted me in and out as quickly as possible. The next day the swelling got worse so went to casualty and within an hour I had to have surgery to remove the tooth but he abscess. My throat had swell that much I was put in intensive care for 4 days. How did a “professional” dentist not see this in the exam? Everytime I go it’s always scale and polish even if I’ve just had one then seen dentist.

Attended for appointment made three months ago and confirmed two days ago only to find the practice locked up, no lights on and not answering phone.

Had a phone call Friday morning to remind me of my appointment today, I explained I could no longer make the time and they gave me an earlier appointment to which I have been and no one knew about this, they could not book me in and I now have to wait until the middle of may to re book. Have been using this dentist for years but since it has been took over it is not good.

Had three appointments cancelled, including one made six months before, due to “dentist not being available”. I have been a patient here for approx 16 years and I feel quite aggrieved at this treatment. I’m aware the practice has been taken over for the second time but feel appointments should have been kept.
