Dear Michelle, I am sorry to hear that the practice have not been able to meet your expectations. Unfortunately I haven't been able to locate you as a patient using the information provided, therefore cannot look into the situation regarding your impressions further. I would advise that you contact the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager, they will be able to confirm the availability of digital impressions or clarify why you may not be suitable. Kind regards Calista - mydentist Patient Services

  2. Review titled Poor service, overcharged

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Elisabeth Baxter - Posted on 10 June 2024

I had a filling come out, phoned the dentist and got an appointment. I was told it would cost £99. I assumed this would go towards the cost of the filling, but apparently it was an emergency appointment charge. I was never told this. It was not an emergency. I attended the appointment and was further charged for an assessment and treatment plan. I complained and got a partial refund for the ‘emergency’ charge. So I had to make a second visit for the actual filling. It should have been done all at the same time. A small filling cost far too much. I wrote to the practice about this but never had the courtesy of a reply. I have now found another dentist and could not recommend this one

Dear Elisabeth, thank you for your review. I am very sorry to hear that you did not receive a reply to your complaint. It is also disappointing for me to hear that the reception team did not advise you that the £99 was the emergency appointment fee. Please accept my apologies, as this is not the experience that we would wish for our patients. I acknowledge that you may feel that our private charges are excessive, however, mydentist regularly review our private pricing against the market and work hard to keep our treatment charges as competitive as possible. I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service you received at the practice and my apologies that we failed to meet your expectations on this occasion. Kind regards Calista- mydentist Patient Services

  3. Review titled No NHS appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy Phillips - Posted on 28 December 2023

I called to make an appointment with the dentist I had always gone to but they only accept private patients now as my old nhs dentist has left and all the others gone private. I can not afford this on my salary as a support worker. Too bad for my clients if my infection gets worse I guess?

Dear Patient, We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our practice. Due to our current NHS appointment availability we are unable to offer appointments to everyone who contacts the practice, and this can include patients who have previously attended. We are only able to offer appointments subject to capacity. I am sorry that we have been unable to assist you at this time. Kind regards Julie Wood - mydentist Patient Services Team Leader

  4. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Mr Matthew J Bardsley - Posted on 11 December 2023

In August this year. I had to have a tooth out under sedation. All went well till I go post extraction complication. When the surgery Devon Villa wouldn't see me post tooth extraction. Due to serve pain/ swelling. Leaving me in pain and leaving the community dentist and yet more expense to myself for this to be sorted and cleared up. As it is the reason I had a tooth out under sedation is because I'm a nervous patient in dentistry. Which the surgery was quick enough to take my money they didn't want to know there after.

  5. Review titled Terrible communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 February 2023

Have been a patient for some years, and communication has always been rather poor. I received a very corporate, somewhat unclear letter today offering to transfer me from NHS care to a private dentist - when I rang to ask why, they informed me that neither I nor any other member of my family (wife, 2 children, not the subject of the letter) could continue to access NHS care with them - the member of staff answering the call seemed to regard it as an irritation (I am always polite; I would guess she is receiving a lot of puzzled calls, though), informed me there was a crisis in the NHS, didn't when asked explain how or why they were ceasing to offer care to long term patients without warning, and was quite defensive when I asked why my wife or children had not been informed ('We get letters out when we can'). Dentist who we have usually seen was always lovely; the communication from the organisation itself has, however, usually been poor, and staff not infrequently rude. I wonder what we do next?

Dear patient, As you may be aware, we do have several dentist vacancies at your practice and are actively trying to recruit. Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult, and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult. However, whilst we are recruiting, if you experience a dental emergency, e.g. swelling or bleeding then you can still contact the practice and they will triage your symptoms and advise you how obtain emergency assistance until the practice is fully staffed. I understand that this news will be disappointing. Kind regards Julie Wood – {my}dentist patient services Team Leader

  6. Review titled Great practice

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Ben - Posted on 09 November 2022

I visited the dental clinic today for the pain I had since Sunday. The reception staff were very polite and welcoming. I filled out the required questionnaire and shortly after I was called in the treatment room. The dentist was pleasant and made me feel at ease. The procedures were explained to me clearly and despite a few attempts to carry out the treatment it was not successful and the dentist was very patient and professionally experienced. The dentist made a referral for me to come again for an extensive treatment. Although the treatment was not carried out but I was very impressed by the approach and the professionalism and looking forward to come back for the next appointment.

My son who is 12 had an abscess 6 months ago. The first consultation was fine. Since then we have had multiple appointments that were wrongfully booked in so they couldn’t finish his route canal!! This lead to the abscess coming back and him having to endure the pain all over again!! The treatment also needed starting again. Now we have had 5 appointments cancelled with every single lie you can imagine!! A total disgrace allowing on going suffering of my child!! They shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves a dentist as they don’t actually do anything!!! Furious isn’t even close
