Review titled Grateful Patient
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had a broken tooth and visited the practice in desperation. The receptionist was helpful and supportive. She arranged for me to see my dentist without an appointment and he fitted a temporary filling. One very grateful patient - especially as Christmas is on the horizon

Review titled Not Competent
Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended Drake's predecessor, which was an excellent dentist and was moved over when Drakes too over the practice as an NHS patient. They have gradually got worse over the years. You rarely get to see the same dentist twice and they seem to have a large turnover. I have had a check up every 6 months but feel it is brief, cursory and impersonal. In the last year I have been told I needed a bridge replacing and that a tooth was decayed and needed extraction. I was not confident in their ability to do the work, so went for a second opinion to another dentist (admittedly privately). The difference is astonishing and worrying. I had a detailed half-hour checkup with X-rays from a fantastic young dentist who explained everything in detail. I was told the bridge "is fine". The extraction may be necessary, but the X-ray identified that the adjacent tooth was, in fact, far more decayed and definitely needed to come out. Yes, I'm paying more for it but how do you value your health!

Review titled Terrible Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Liam - Posted on 20 December 2024
Had a terrible experience at this practice. Waited seven weeks for an appointment as a new patient, despite being in considerable pain. Was not impressed by the attitude of staff or dentist The examination was incompetent and I felt as though my health would be compromised if I remained at this practice. Seemed more about money than dental health. Whole experience left me feeling distressed and disappointed. I had to find another company who could do the work for me.

Attended for an appointment this week and was greeted with positivity from the reception staff, and received great service from the nurse and dentist also. Everyone made the experience so much easier.

I had a toothache and visited the practice in person to see if I could make an appointment. I got an appointment for the same day and was able to start antibiotics immediately. All the staff were friendly and helpful
