Review titled The Waiting Game In Pain
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2024
I am extremely disappointed with the level of service, or lack thereof, from Plymouth Dental Access Centre. I have been dealing with the painful issues of a cracked tooth and swollen gums, which have only worsened over the past two weeks. Unfortunately, my efforts to get help have been met with nothing but frustration. For the last two weeks, I’ve been calling the Centre daily, hoping to secure an appointment or at least some guidance on managing the pain. Every single day, I either receive no answer, am told that “someone will call you back today,” or simply advised to try calling again tomorrow. I’ve followed every instruction given to me, calling back the next day without fail, only to be met with the same excuses or outright lack of response. I understand that dental services can be busy, but the inability to pick up the phone or make a return call after repeated requests is inexcusable. The constant delay and lack of proper communication have added to my suffering. The pain from my cracked tooth is intense, and the swollen gum is clearly an indication that something is wrong and needs prompt attention. I am worried about the long-term consequences of this untreated problem, but without the Centre’s cooperation, I am left helpless and in constant discomfort. I can appreciate that the NHS and its services are under pressure, but that should not mean that patients like myself, who are in genuine need of urgent dental care, are left without any response or solution. It would be understandable if I had been told of a delay but given a solid timeframe, or even if I’d been directed to alternative resources in the meantime. However, the empty promises and repeated directions to “call back tomorrow” are not only frustrating but downright unprofessional. This experience has been extremely disheartening. I am now left considering private treatment, even though I had hoped the Dental Access Centre could offer me the care and attention I desperately need. I hope the Centre recognises the importance of improving their phone service and their patient communication. Patients should not have to endure additional suffering due to avoidable delays. If you’re in need of urgent dental care, based on my experience, I would strongly advise considering other options before relying on Plymouth Dental Access Centre for a timely response.

I trying to call in emergency now for 2 days to book appointment because of dental pain and every time I just continue to get automatic response to no agents is awiable to take call and then hang out me. I desperately repeat call now over 20 times all what I got or same automated answer machine. I question myself for what purpose I pay for NCH is I can't get now more than one day somebody to take call. And what is purpose of emergency service if they no want to respond? That is very rude and awfoul behave from registering NCH service People who need emergency assistance can't her even simple response from emergency contact. On top of this that is only one emergency NCH dentist service in Plymouth so I no have any choices for emergency assistance with NCH. Instead of this I am forced to take private dentist.

Review titled Poor attitude and customer service
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have been in pain since just before Dec 2023 and its been extremely painful. I have a back tooth that needs to be filled and I've been put through for an appointment twice now, of which both times. the filling has come out within a week. This morning I called and I cannot believe this is how you would speak to someone in need of help its shocking. Now the NHS only does temporary work so apparently people on benefits don't matter anymore, is that correct. One lady I spoke to for the last appointment was wonderful but that was because the filling lasted 1 day so she put me straight back to be seen again. Just over a week later it has fallen out again and because they have gone deeper it hurts alot more. What did I ever do to thos person to get spoken to like that. If I have any mistake in this its because im writing it in pain and angry with my last interaction with them.

Review titled Amazing service

After struggling with molar tooth pain for months and being fobbed off with a temporary filling by my private dentist I had to ring the emergency as I was in absolute agony. They got me an appointment the day I rang and the dentist x rayed and extracted the tooth. Very caring and I couldn't have asked for a better service. It's a shame private dentists can't be like this instead of only thinking of what money can be made. Thanks again for relieving me from excruciating pain.

After ringing 7 trees for 3 days I was told to try again but the 03 number on Saturday morning, they got me in that morning and I'm terrified of dentistry the dental nurse helped me calm my nerves and the dentist was very patient and with both of them I managed to handle a tooth removal without anesthesia, I'm very greatful for the help and patience of tears and nerves.

Review titled Such a good experience!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sharon Lambert - Posted on 13 April 2023
I needed emergency treatment prior to starting chemotherapy. The receptionists were very warm, listening carefully to my plea, and fitting me in for a first appointment. The dentist and nurse were kindness itself. I had a thorough examination with x-rays, was given lots of good advice and an urgent second appointment was made for an extraction to be done before chemo started. The second dentist and nurse were equally skilled and kind, the procedure was done without any pain or discomfort and I was given more excellent advice. My experience of Seventrees has been superb, I wish I could carry on coming here for dentistry. Thank you all.

Review titled Cannot speak highly enough
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My mum is visiting me in Plymouth and is in extreme pain due to a root being left in her gum after an extraction last year. She was told in Scotland it would be a 3 month wait to get it removed. The pain escalated over the weekend while she was here. Phoned Access on Monday morning and by 3pm she was in having the fractured route removed, after weeks of building pain. The dentist had a lovely bedside manner and was determined to sort my mum out. Reception staff and nurses were also warm and welcoming. Can’t thank them all enough.
