  1. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Amazing experience as far as going to the dentist can be. Everything was explained to me and a treatment plan was put together. I had a wisdom tooth extracted and apart from the gum injection and some pressure it was painless. Fantastic staff and I have little fear of continuing my treatment plan at First Dental.

  3. Review titled Extremely poor communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kate - Posted on 04 December 2022

I had to endure quite distressing treatments over 3 visits. At each visit, not one of the practitioners introduced themselves to me, or indeed make any attempt to put me at my ease. Even though they could clearly see that I was extremely anxious. A blow by blow commentary of what was happening was not necessary, however some preparation as to what was about to happen would have made the whole experience less stressful. For example loading a fair amount of a "putty" type substance into my mouth and then tutting at me because I had the audacity to gag was upsetting to say the least. If you'd told me what you were doing I may have coped a little better. The dentist and the Nurse then just sat there in total silence while I lay there wondering what on earth was happening. Neither of them explained what was happening. I assumed the "putty"was setting. Should I have to imagine what's going on? I'm a Nurse and have supported many patients through quite horrific and invasive procedures. I comfort and support them throughout. I constantly explain what's happening and although still upset and distressed they gain some comfort from just a few kind words. It means the world to them. They don't feel abandoned scared or alone. Good communication is so important. Compassion and kindness should come as standard I feel very let down by the service I have received and shall be voting with my feet.
