Review titled Fantastic Practice, Fully Recommended
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gary Hoy - Posted on 20 November 2024
I have nothing but good words for this practice. I have moved around the country a lot and as such, have been registered with many different practices. This is without a doubt the best dental practice I have ever been registered with. It has to be said, over the last year the entire building has undergone a Drastic remodeling of the building and throughout that time things did get very chaotic. But that is all complete now, the new makeover looks great everywhere is clean and bright and both waiting rooms are now back in service, so no more waiting in awkward spaces :D The service has always been fantastic, they are always helpful and always try to accommodate any requests where possible. Shoutout to my Dental Hygienist (redacted name because they wont allow it) and her Nurse (Redacted for the same reason). Always on point with the advice, honesty and laughs. I know they say that seeing a dentist is more important, but from my experience, if I could only have access to 1 service or the other, I would choose the dental hygiene aspect, it always feels like someone has really gone over my mouth with a fine-tooth-comb and given me really good advice on how to maintain and improve my smile. Thank you ladies, you know who you are :D My Mum and Dad are also registered here and both have had new sets of dentures made and have had an absolutely impeccable service from this practice. No faults found (unless you want to get super picky about a bit of chaos during a full building renovation, which I don't, the place now looks fantastic so it was all worth it).

Review titled Check up
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Practice recently renovated and taken over by new company, building is now fresh and smart with up to date modern equipment. Great service from Dentists and Hygenist and Dental Nurses .. professional, polite and experienced. Took time to explain procedure and cost and made me feel comfortable. Shame about the Receptionists 5 or 6 on the front desk and none were bothered to attend to me on arrival. Too bothered about their own private conversations to deal with the rapidly increasing queue of patients. What could be a brilliant dental surgery is being let down by rude inefficient front of house.

Review titled Great practice

Have visited this practice twice as a new NHS patient. They have been really welcoming and professional throughout my visits, the dentist and dental nurse took time to explain everything and were really pleasant. Both my partner and I really appreciate this as we are both nervous of the dentist. You can't leave reviews including names but we can't fault our experience. Thanks Hanover.

Review titled Not sure if I'm still registered as an NHS patient.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 October 2024
I was asked to sign a new contract when I went to attend my regular check up. The practice has recently undergone expansion with more receptionists. None of them could confirm wether I was still an NHS patient so they asked a manager down to speak with me. I was assured that I would be paying the same amount, but a straightforward yes or no response never occurred. There was no advance information about the changes so I either had to lose my appointment or sign. I still don't know if I'm an NHS dental patient or if I have gone private. I felt there was no alternative (under pressure) but to sign up or go on a long search for an NHS dental practice somewhere else in the country! Staff are pleasant and the dentists and technicians were very efficient.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I registered at Hanover dental practice as a NHS patient changing from a private practice which I had been with for many years. I was a bit apprehensive about the change but from the first phone call onwards all of the staff have been so friendly, helpful and understanding. An appointment was available within a couple of weeks. The dentist was excellent fully explaining what treatment was needed and was happy to answer any questions I asked. I had a crown fitted painlessly which involved 2 further appointments both of which were offered at times which fitted around my working shifts. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the practice and feel lucky to have found such a great dental practice. Thank you to all.

Reception staff helpful, sorted an emergency appointment for me as I required treatment. They were pleasant on the day and professional, I saw a dentist who was very caring, and explained the treatment required simply and she treated the problem professionally and efficiently, and I was very satisfied with the whole experience. Thank you.

Review titled bad customer service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Julie Anne Sherratt - Posted on 04 June 2024
I have not visited Hanover Dental Practice since before Covid as I was unhappy with the way I was treated. Then I receive a letter dated 01/05/24 stating I owed them £12.70 in unpaid fees. This is not true as I paid for all the treatment I had at the time. I have phoned twice to query this and no one has phoned me back. This is really bad customer service as no one can be bothered to either leave messages for the person to phone you back or if you do contact them they cant be bothered to get back to you. I have also emailed the person's name on the letter who also has not got back to me. I think they are desperate for money and trying any trick to get money out of people. I thought they were over priced at the time and it was one of the reasons I left the practice. Dont use this practice they may state they are NHS but I believe they are charging private patient prices. The dentistry work isnt brilliant, the staff are rude, the place is old fashioned and needs brightening up. Very disgusted.

Review titled Unnecessary pain
Rated 1 star out of 5

My check up experience was fine but when I went for a filling they did not use any numbing agent despite me telling them and had told them I had a fear of the drilling. Stopped them 3 times due to the pain and requested they numb twice before they then applied a numbing agent! Will not be going back.
