For the first time in my adult life I missed a dental appointment on Friday. The previous day I had worked an 18 hour shift for the general election and out of exhaustion the following day completely forgot to attend. When I called to offer my apologies and rearrange was advised I had missed over 30 appointments which was not the case and had been stuck off. I made it clear that this information was incorrect and that I had only ever missed one appointment and that was on the Friday. Further into the conversation I was advised that I had actually rearranged over 30 appointments which I don't believe is correct. I made the staff aware that due to the nature of my role at my job I would have had to rearrange appointments at times due to my work commitments and responsibilities. I will now have to pay for a private dentist.. I find it disgusting that I have been struck off for missing one appointment in 15 years with this surgery and also rearranging appointments due to having work commitments. Is this what our NHS has come to. It appears they are desperate to have an excuse to remove people from the list.

Unfortunately NHS dentistry is a shrinking service. At Hyde Dental Practice we are committed to providing NHS dentistry, for this reason we require our patients to attend their appointments and not to waste valuable NHS time. NHS time can be used for patients who don't have a dentist Rearranging appointments by cancelling at short notice or not attending appointments wastes NHS time. We endeavor to see new patients when slots become available and removing patients from our NHS list is something we do consider seriously. After a long oral issue requiring surgery, I was very nervous to visit the dentist - I had no reason to be, I was immediately put at ease, and even when I needed a filling I couldn’t feel a thing.. Small things like taking you through what they’re doing and what they’re about to do, how it might feel etc… No nasty surprises and super easy.

I have always been afraid of going to the dentist because He would probably hurt me. Not any more, at this practice I am waiting for things to start and the dentist says, "Right, that's, all done." And I haven't felt a thing!

Oh made me feel very at ease Brilliant Dentist is very efficient and no messing his dental nurse was very friendly and told me everything what was going on There absolute pros
