Review titled The dentist from hell
Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been with this dentist for over a decade, but since the new management took over, it has been hellish. I went to this dentist regarding my wisdom tooth, which continued to get infected. They did nothing, so I had to go to another dentist, who provided me with antibiotics and recommended I get my wisdom teeth removed. However, he couldn’t refer me as I wasn’t registered with their practice and suggested I go to the NHS. When I told my usual dentist, they suggested I get a toothbrush for cleaning wisdom teeth. I explained that the gum covering my wisdom tooth (operculum) created a pocket where food got trapped, making it impossible to clean. They insisted the toothbrush was the solution. I returned to my usual dentist (Shahzia Syeda) because their solution didn't work. I relayed what the other dentist said, but she argued against removing my wisdom teeth despite the constant infections. Instead, she suggested using a scalpel to cut my gum, a temporary and painful solution. I asked her to refer me to the NHS, as recommended by the other dentist, but she claimed she could only refer me privately. She even said she didn’t want to refer me because "my colleagues would laugh at me for referring you and there is no real problem." Constant pain and infections weren't reasons enough? I believed her and allowed her to cut my gum. The issue wasn’t fully resolved, and I had to buy a water flosser to clean out the hole. The bad taste and smell were gone, but I was in a lot of pain. A few weeks later, my gum healed, and the problem returned. The water flosser couldn’t clean the hole because the gum had healed, so I was back to square one. I left a message for the dentist about this, and she immediately referred me to the NHS to get my wisdom teeth removed—the same dentist who previously said she couldn’t refer me to the NHS. She lied to get me to spend money, only to tell me later that I could be referred. To add insult to injury, when I called reception to complain and asked to speak with a manager, the receptionist antagonized me and refused to let me speak to a manager. When a manager was available, she put me on hold indefinitely, forcing me to call back. This dental practice is unprofessional and will do anything to cheat you out of your money. The practice is not what it used to be, clearly due to the new management. You're better off registering with other dental practices that actually diagnose your problems truthfully. I’m in pain every day and have to wait months to get my wisdom teeth removed unless I go private, all because I was lied to by Shahzia Syeda.
