I'm an NHS patient and found it hard to find a practice in this area who would provide treatment and take on NHS patients. Ive been with Lion House for almost 5 years and they work very hard to provide good quality of treatment consistantly both by the Dentists and Admin staff. Theywork with mev to provide appointments at a convenient Time/date and even offer cancellation appointments, by contacting me by Text to offer appointments as they become available. I've recently completed a course of treatment and been provided with a new appointment in 6 montshs time. Everyone is extremely helpful and communicate what is happening in advance. I receive emails, Texts and phone calls in advance of my appointments to ensure the appointment is achieved, and if I can't make the appointment they'll offer it to another patient.

I went for an appointment 2 days ago. I felt confident that the dentist and the dental hygienist were working together to give me an excellent standard of care. Communication between them and me as a patient, was open, friendly and informative. Clear information was given on a course of treatment, with the cost discussed. Options were clear and time given to me before I had to make any decision. I booked a further appointment for my 6 monthly check up, but if I want to go ahead with further treatment, I have a full understanding of what I need to do. May thanks to both practitioners

I have suffered with tooth ache and sore gum for over two weeks. After a week I booked an emergency appointment which I got the same day. The dentist xrayed and inspected the tooth and found no decay or infection, after cleaning the area, I was sent home and told to return in a week if there was no improvement. After a further week of pain and no improvement I booked a second emergency appointment and was seen the same day. A different dentist checked the tooth, no further X-ray taken, identified the area but again could see no decay or infection other than sore swollen gums. I was prescribed a course of antibiotics. Overall I am happy with the service and treatment by the practice, my only issue is I have now had to pay for two emergency appointments within a week and this is not considered a course of treatment despite it being for the same condition. If after a week of antibiotics the condition does not improve I will need a further emergency appointment which racks the cost considerably (£27.40 per appointment). In all other respects Lion House NHS dental practice is excellent with really great care.

I can't say I enjoy going to the dentist but the staff here make it as near as possible to enjoyable. Everyone is excellent - the dentists, nurses and hygienists I have seen have treated me virtually pain free, with good humour and efficiency. The receptionists are lovely, helpful and efficient. The premises are immaculate. A totally 5 star dental practice.

I arrived at the Practice 10 minutes prior to my allotted appointment time (1100 hrs), the reception lady welcomed me with a smile and a pleasant soft tone voice. I was then asked to wait in the waiting room where I had to stand with my crutches because the chairs were to low for me to sit on. I was called forward to see my selected Dentist who I cannot name at 1106 hrs, just 6 minutes pass my allotted time but the Dental Assistant did apologise about the wait to me in the waiting room, in front of other people waiting. The lady Dentist as always, was very welcoming, her assistant help me to sit in the dental chair by raising the seat to the necessary height that met my need and then took my crutches away and made them safe, the lady Dentist then inspected my teeth, explaining the issues she had found and then took two x-rays of my back teeth (1 x set on the right hand side and 1 x set on the left hand side). The lady Dentist then suggested that I needed a filling to be replaced soon because of some sort of leakage that is cause a problem for the current filling and we agreed that this could be done on the 22 Sep 25 at my next Dental Review prior to the filling and the review, I was advised to visit the Dental Hygienist on the same day at the same practise, my next appointments have been arranged for the 22 Sep 25, a lady Hygienist that I cannot name at 1400 hrs and the lady Dentist that I cannot name at 1430 hrs. I hope this is what you expected. Sid Goodall

I rang today to say my fixed retainer had become detached. Knowing how important it is to reattach before it gets bent, they booked me in that day. My appointment was for 6pm and that’s exactly when I was called into my appointment. Both staff were excellent, treatment completed in 15 minutes. Couldn’t be happier. They are always so polite, professional and accommodating. Thankful for such an efficient practice.

My experience was with the Dentist and Hygienist. They were very professional in what they were doing at every stage. Give good advice about how to look after my teeth. Would fully recommend this practice.

I was see by a dental therapist for a filling and teeth cleaning. The practitioner was very reassuring, explained everything as treatment progressed and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I think that is very important, if you are even slightly nervous about visiting the dentist. A dental therapist seems the way forward. They fit between the hygienist and the dentist.
