My dentist kind for me but I complain aboutmy dentist. My English not very well. I told her. she always clean my front teeth and it was hurt. my left tooth was hurting and I came for this. But she he ripped off my fillings and made two more. She filled my composite filling with amalgam filling. My right down tooth half composite half amalgam. And i can't eat anything. I can only drink. I guess Im nhs patient and that is why she did so. My left tooth was pain and than my right tooth is pain to.

  2. Review titled Friendly but made me feel like i was not honest

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 February 2024

Staff were all polite, practice was friendly, very clean and modern. my only issue that i did not feel was appropriate was having to pay in advance for a follow up appointment weeks away, this made me feel like i was not trusted. due to the cost of living i don't always have the money to pay weeks in advance, i always pay on the day for treatment and never miss appointments. the practice did not make me aware of this policy before as i am a new patient and i have never been asked this before by a dentist. its usually pay on the day for your treatment anywhere else. i would come again but the money in advance is a put off as it makes those of us who pay feel like we are being looked at as untrustworthy to attend.

Thank you for taking the time to review our practice. Its great to hear that you felt our practice was clean and modern with friendly staff, however I am sorry to hear that you were left feeling untrustworthy with our payment policy. Our payment system was initially put in place many years ago to reduce misunderstandings or confusion and we have found that many other practices also operate in the same way. I am sorry to hear that you may reconsider attending in future.

  3. Review titled Unhappy private patient

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having relocated many times over the years, I have been registered with different dental practices. I was surprised when I arrived for my first appointment to find the waiting room absolutely jam packed (this was particularly worrying due to a recent increase in those testing positive for Covid). My next surprise was the choice of music being played in the waiting room- Kiss fm (no relaxing music for nervous patients like me!). During the course of my treatment I've had to make 3 or 4 appointments and not one has been on time. Whilst I don't mind waiting 10/15 minutes, a 35 minute wait with no explanation I feel is not acceptable. At my last appointment I asked about changing my dentist to another in the practice as my working schedule and my current dental surgeon's working hours clash. I was told that I was unable to change until after my course of treatment was finished. The final straw was when I had to cancel an appointment at short notice due to a flare up of an existing health condition and was subsequently charged for the cancellation (upon registering I had explained about my health and the possibility of cancelling at short notice and was reassured that this would be taken into account). I am sorry for the negative feedback but my whole experience with this practice is not positive. Needless to say this very nervous patient is now even more nervous and will be looking for another practice as soon as the course of treatment has finished.

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to review our practice. I am sorry to hear that your experience has not been positive but we welcome your feedback to help improve our service. Regarding the waiting room and the choice of radio station, our reception team rotate the stations on a regular basis so that each day a different station is played. This is to ensure we cater to all tastes. However, we always try to keep the volume to a low level. Following your feedback, we will discuss the choice of music in our next meeting. The waiting room does get quite full at times as we are a 10 surgery practice. The busier times are usually early morning (before work/school) and late afternoons. Quieter times are usually after 11am or around 2pm, please do request an appointment at these times if you feel this would be more suitable for you. You mentioned that you have been kept waiting for each appointment as the dentist has been running late. The dentists do try to run on time but as you can imagine, sometimes emergencies arise or treatment may take more time than originally planned. We do encourage the staff to let patients know if their dentist is running late so that they can make an informed decision whether they want to rebook or wait. I apologise that you were not informed. Regarding changing to another dentist and the cancellation procedure for private patients, if you would like to discuss this further, please do contact the practice on 0117 9586878 and ask to speak with myself or Emma. Kind regards, Katherine Barnes Assistant manager
