  1. Review titled Disgraceful

Completely unprofessional practise in dire needs of customer service training. One appointment was rearranged three times resulting in finally being seen nine months later.

I have been with this dentist for 12 months now as an NHS patient and quite frankly I find them an appalling practice!!! I have been trying to get a hygienist appointment since September / having had some cancelled. I was told the dentist would do a scrape and polish in the mean time which he refused to do even though he is recommending that I need it. I also need a root canal which is covered by the nhs band 3 however the dentist has told me I have to go private and then come back to him for a cap ??/ why ??/ Myself and my partner are constantly having appointments cancelled. My last one was cancelled 4 times and then they tried to say I had cancelled it...luckily I had proof. The receptionist are awful particularly one ...no customer service skill, not at all welcoming or friendly basically has a bad attitude !! I think this whole practice needs to have a good look at itself and staff and think about what they are offering to their customers....because 5* dental treatment isn't it !!!

  3. Review titled Poor reception attitude

by Jonanthan Wilson - Posted on 17 September 2024

I had an appointment today and was confused. My dentist wasn't available so I was seen by a different dentist. I was given a diagnosis and treatment plan then told I needed to book a new appointment with my normal dentist. On booking the new appointment I was told it would be a repeat of today but with my dentist ie another diagnosis and treatment plan. Why was today not cancelled if my dentist wasn't available? Why I am having to have another review? Trying to discuss with the reception staff I found them very dismissive and not understanding. I had taken half a day off work (unpaid) and now need to take another half day (unpaid). I cannot afford to loose a full days pay in this way as I'm sure you wouldn't like either. I could not find anywhere on your site to leave feedback so am doing it here. The only option was to ring and I didn't want another pointless discussion with the reception staff.

  4. Review titled Fantastic practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had been referred here from my dentist to have a tooth out. No problems at all! Wednesday staff were fantastic. They made me feel at ease right away and helped me deal with my phobia I have of dentists. I would recommend going there to anyone. So thank you very much to all staff you were brilliant!!

  5. Review titled Minor but annoying dishonesty!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Part of its listing details on nhs uk Marketplace Dental Practice Ramsbottom treatments-and-services pages shows "scale and polish" as a NHS Service offered by this practice. However, when recommended to me by the dental surgeon this treatment is not provided by the practice under its NHS treatment, despite a statutory obligation under band 1 of the NHS dental charges Schedule. If asked why not I am sure that the practice will assert that the recommendation is for cosmetic treatment and so not "(if clinically needed)" as that schedule notes. However I was not advised at the time that this is cosmetic and the non-NHS dental hygienist who works in the practice will charge privately via the practice a (reasonable) £25 approximate fee!
