  2. Review titled Happy Patient

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Whilst I acknowledge the previous reviews, having had quite a few appointments cancelled myself, I would like to say that this seems to have improved in more recent months. I have (unfortunately) had to have lots of work done to my teeth and I find that I feel so much more at ease with the new dentist here as I have always been a nervous patient! He’s very honest about things with a “relaxed/modern way” of talking to you, and fully explains things, which I like. The treatment I’ve had has always been good and although there can be a long wait in the waiting room, I just accept this and I prepare in advance that this might be the case. Also, I know so many people that are unable to get into an NHS dentist at all, so I feel grateful I have one and that I can have regular appointments, unlike some people. He will always make the time to see you if you need an emergency appointment too, even when he is super busy he will find a way of fitting an appointment in for you on the same day. I also think the new dentist has made lots of positive changes to what was quite an “old fashioned” surgery. He offers more up to date services that the previous dentist didn’t, including teeth whitening etc. Overall, I’m really happy with the dentist practise and all of the staff there. The dental nurses and receptionists are all really lovely too, always happy and make you feel at ease.

  3. Review titled Won't be going back

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been registered at this practice for 20 years without any issues, but since the previous dentist retired the quality of service and treatment has declined to the point of abysmal. I had work done a year ago which was not a total success and a crown fitted which has subsequently broken off. Returned recently due to toothache, a lost filling and a loose crown. X rays were taken and a follow-up appointment made. The appointment was cancelled with only two hours notice. Subsequent appointment was booked, by which time the crown had broken off as mentioned above. The waiting room was full, two patients gave up and left after nearly an hour without being seen. The surgery room felt chaotic and so rushed I didn't feel at all happy with the quality of the treatment, the descaling was brutally fast and erratic. No mention was made regarding the previous xrays and the appointment was very rushed. Two days later the filling has dropped out. I will not be returning here and will have to pay for private treatment elsewhere in future.

  4. Review titled Dreadful Experience - Very Unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice used to excellent. Having been a patient for 40+ years in the care of at least 3 different dentists I have never had a bad experience.......until now. The surgery is under new management this year and since the takeover the service has been appalling. I have now had 3 booked appointments cancelled with almost no notice, meaning I've taken time off work for nothing - the dentist apparently doesn't bother turning up half of the time! Having complained to the receptionist I've been told that they have been instructed by the owner to book appointments which they know they have no capacity to fulfil. This is not only unprofessional but also unethical. I shall certainly be making the British Dental Association aware of the disgraceful behaviour of this new dentist.
