Review titled Extremely poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2024
After having a previous appointment cancelled in June, we attended for a new appointment today. My wife had made a slight mistake on the online booking form, which they seemed to think that she would have to pay today for her treatment. The girl behind the desk was adamant that this could not be corrected by the surgery. After arguing with us for over 30 minutes, they did manage to correct this. Then we had 1 of the dentists have ago at us, which was totally unfair about did we not realise how busy they were. This had nothing what so ever to do with her because we were not seeing her. Then after all the arguing to and throw, they told us that the dentist wasn't even there. Why oh why would you do that to your customers? We've been with them for over 40 years and this has to be the worst experience I've ever had from any company. If I didn't turn up, I would be facing a charge or fee, yet the dentist seems to be able to pick and choose when he wants to turn up.

Review titled Oh Dear!
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Post COVID it has proven nigh on impossible to arrange for routine dental care. Having been seen once in April 2023 and advised to rebook in 6 months, come April there were no appointments available. "Try again in June " Surprisingly, on calling in June 2024 an appointment was booked for early July. Reminders were received a few days before the date and attendance confirmed. On arrival, having interrupted the summer holiday and driven 110 miles to keep the appointment, reception apologised but the appointment was cancelled. The Dentist was not coming into work; the appointment should not have been booked anyway; no alternative appointments are available due to upcoming maternity leave; the only other NHS dentist only works 2 days a week and their list is full; try calling again in a couple of months. To describe the experience as "disappointing" is something of an understatement.

Review titled Unorganised unprofessional and unfair.
Rated 1 star out of 5

I Last went 2019. Obviously covid hit. Every time I have phoned up since, been told “not taking appointments” “no appointments available” “call back” been messed around and fobbed off for years. Had to go the dental cafe round the corner a couple of years ago to pay for treatment because this dentist just wouldn’t see me. Try my luck again today to be told I’m not a patient anymore because I haven’t been in for 5 years. I’ve lost my place because they wouldn’t see me. Absolutely ridiculous. Even earlier this year I was getting told “call back” and “no appointments” when apparently I wasn’t on their records anymore. Massively unorganised and unprofessional. Everyone knows how difficult it is getting registered with an nhs dentist. I thought I was lucky to have one. But now I haven’t because they wouldn’t see me. For the past 3 years I’ve called up multiple times to be rejected. Now Im not registered with them because it’s been 5 years. Tell me how this is fair?

Review titled Can't get an appointment and if I do they get cancelled
Rated 1 star out of 5

I can never get an appointment for my children and I. Three appointments have been cancelled in the past 2 months, just a text to say my appointment was cancelled and to phone up. Phoned up each time and told that there's no appointments available for a check up. It's getting ridiculous now, i'm going to make a complaint to the NHS about it. I pay for my treatment and my children deserve to see a dentist every 6 months for a check up. Never known anything like it, so frustrating.

I have been trying to get a dental appointment over several months and whenever I call they say they aren't taking appointments at the moment - I'm trying to get my son his first check up. Now they've said to call back in Summer.

Tried to book appointment numerous times. Called in november for treatment and was told they are not taking any bookings and to call back in january. Called today and was told they are not taking appointments and are booked up until May. I asked if i called again in a couple months would i then get an appointment in July, was told would possibly get one in May or June. I thanked the receptionist but she hung up without saying anything, which is not at all professional. I doubt I will ever get an appointment.

I was seen at short notice. The nurse who called me in was very pleasant and addressed me by my first name which I liked. The dentist was very pleasant and explained fully what was wrong and reassured me.

The dentist I had was very professional and talked through the removal of my wisdom tooth to make me feel at ease. He had it out within 10 mins without any problems or issues.
