  1. Review titled Lovely people but hands tied so cant help nhs patients

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 February 2024

Have been here several years now the Practice is well run and the people there are always friendly and easy to talk to. My treatment has always been done really well with no issues which lead to me calling before my appt later this year as I'd broke a tooth which was incredibly painful and the sharpe edge left would cut my tongue and cause it to bleed. However upon calling them I was informed they were no longer seeing nhs patients and I could not be seen, which included cancelling my appt for June this year. They were very apologetic and said if I was able to pay I could see them privately without any issues However I can't afford the costs associated with the treatment I need. It's a great shame because they are a fantastic Practice but now I am unable to access treatment especially as no other dentist within a 25 mile radius of where I live are taking on new patients. Gutted.

Dear patient, We are sorry to read your comments but thank you for your review. At this time the practice does have a number of clinician vacancies which we are actively trying to recruit to, we hope that this will rectify the situation we currently find ourselves in at practice and we will be able to offer NHS treatment in the future. Kind regards, Julie - mydentist Patient Services Team Leader.

Have been an NHS patient for many years at this location. On calling practice to change appointment date in December I was informed by receptionist the staff had been trying to contact me to advise my dentist was no longer offering NHS services.I was told I would need to become a Private patient. I declined this offer and will no longer be attending the practice.

  3. Review titled Amazing service exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had treatment on my tooth which had cracked!! My dentist tried to repair it, but explained that it might not work as it was badly cracked but he did his best!! With tooth filled, he gave me clear instructions what to do if I experienced pain. This was in the middle of festive period!! After a few days , pain started to kick in and painkillers were lasting less and less!! I then followed his suggestion. Luckily he was able to see me the next day as emergency. This was on the 29th Dec, he was able to come in to extract my tooth. Thank you to the nurse who cut her lunch hour short to help out!! You both saved me a lot of pain and bother!! Thank you and for the follow up phone checks to see i was ok!! 🙏🏿

  4. Review titled Ripped Off.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andrew Godwin - Posted on 20 September 2023

I had a rather disappointing experience at MyDentist Werrington, I feel compelled to share my thoughts in this review. I initially contacted the clinic seeking an emergency appointment to reattach a crown, I was informed that there would be an £89.00 charge for the service. However, this was not the full story. To start, I was told that I could get an appointment the next day, which was not the same day as I had hoped for, but I understood that it is not always be possible to schedule same-day appointments. The real issue arose when I arrived for my appointment. After spending a mere 10 minutes in the dentist chair, I was hit with an unexpected bill. I had specifically inquired about the cost of reattaching the crown, the initial quote was £89.00 & money was taken upfront before the booking would be confirmed. It was only when I was in the chair, vulnerable & ready for the procedure, that I was informed of an additional £80.00 charge just to glue my crown back on. Naturally, I was taken aback & questioned the sudden price hike. However, instead of a reasonable explanation or an attempt to address my concerns, I was met with a dismissive and uncaring attitude from the dentist, she said I could go and not get my £89.00 back. To put it bluntly, it felt as though they were taking advantage of my situation, the response was nothing short of disappointing. When I initially booked my appointment, the staff member who booked me was incredibly helpful. The nurse who assisted me in scheduling was exceptionally kind & went out of her way to be helpful, it seemed that she genuinely believed the quoted price was accurate, as I had confirmed it with her multiple times. The lack of transparency & abrupt introduction of an additional charge left me feeling used & taken advantage of as a customer. It's disheartening to encounter such poor customer service, especially in the field of healthcare where trust and transparency are paramount. In conclusion, my experience at MyDentist Werrington was marred by misleading information, unexplained extra charges, & a complete lack of empathy from the staff. I had hoped for a more positive interaction, but I left the clinic feeling both dissatisfied & frustrated. It's crucial for any service provider to uphold transparency, honesty, & a basic level of customer care, which unfortunately, I did not encounter during my visit. I'd like to bring another issue to your attention regarding my visit to the dentist. After the procedure, I noticed a significant amount of excess glue left inside my mouth. I have captured images of this issue. In most other business transactions, when a mistake is made by the staff, it's customary for the manager or responsible party to take some form of corrective action, often in the form of a goodwill gesture. in this instance they did not. I hope this helps you when deciding on a dentist, get a quote in writing, this was a very expensive mistake which I had no proof to verify their mistake.

  6. Review titled Great practicei telephoned

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris groome - Posted on 14 January 2023

I telephoned for an urgent appointment because i had raging toothache allnight. The dentist rang me back within 4 hours and asked i f i could come to the surgery that afternoon. He x rayed my tooth and found it had a large crack. Concerned that i had an auortic valve replacement which is serious if you get an infection, he extracted the tooth without any discomfort. He and his nurse were very caring and expert in their job! Many many thanks to all concerned.
