  1. Review titled Should not be registered as an NHS dentist

No option of NHS treatment. Appointments constantly cancelled. This practice should be taken of the NHS website as they do not offer any treatment for NHS patients.

Dear Patient, We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the time it takes to get an appointment at our practice. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, appointments are in extremely high demand at the moment and our dentist’s diaries are fully booked. Please be assured we are working hard to increase our appointment availability and see our patients as soon as possible. Kind Regards Julie Wood - {my}dentist Patient Services Team Leader

  2. Review titled Awful

For a start I haven’t been able to get a check up since 2021. I’ve been told to call back every month for the past year in the end I emailed in January and was told to call in March. I called yesterday as I think I have an infection and was told we don’t have an nhs dentist who can see you today but we can speak to the dentist who’s in later. I also enquired if they were doing routine check ups yet and w was just told no we have no nhs dentist. What are those of us who can’t afford to go private supposed to do?!!! I had a call 5 hours later offering me an emergency appointment with 15 minutes notice, I work on the other side of the city I’d never make it in that time! How is this acceptable! For 2 years prior to covid I had 12 check ups cancelled by the dentist and it’s surprising years later that there has been absolutely no improvement whatsoever! I’m now stuck trying to get what I believe is an infection sorted and no one cares

Dear patient, As you may be aware, we do have several dentist vacancies at your practice and are actively trying to recruit. Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult, and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult. However, whilst we are recruiting, if you experience a dental emergency, e.g. swelling or bleeding then you can still contact the practice and they will triage your symptoms and advise you how obtain emergency assistance until the practice is fully staffed. I understand that this news will be disappointing. Kind regards Julie Wood – {my}dentist patient services Team Leader

  3. Review titled Not a chance for a dentist for the last 2 years

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have tried to make an appointment with a dentist for the last 2 years. Last year only I was advised that I need to call in January, April, August and October. During my last conversation (Oct), I was advised they now have no capacity till after Christmas. I have been trying to have my filling repaired (done by their dentist) which fell out leaving me with only one, sharp edge of the tooth, but it is not deemed enough of an emergency, although I also have an inflammation in my gum because of this tooth. I offered to pay for this appointment to have it done, but I was informed that 'it does not work like that' and if I go private, I need to stay private - no matter they can offer private appointments but no NHS ones. Shocking service.
