  1. Review titled Now Private and Pay before your visit

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

Been with this dentist 20 years used to be very good but in the last 10 years dental practitioners have changed almost every visit. Now the practice has gone private only and they ring up and ask for payment prior to your appointment - in my case 3 days! And 'if I don't like it I can cancel the appointment and go elsewhere' As I've waited a couple of weeks with a broken tooth I've elected to receive the treatment this time but will find an alternative practice in the future whether it is NHS or private.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused in relation to your treating dentist no longer providing NHS treatment. Your dentist has taken the decision to no longer offer dental services on the NHS. Where routine NHS provision is not currently available, your practice will be able to offer alternative private options. We hope that these alternatives will allow you to access dental care at this time. Please contact the practice should you require more information, so they can discuss with you your needs. Kind regards, {my}dentist Patient Support Team

  2. Review titled Cancellations

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have now had two NHS appointments cancelled the last one not until March. When I rang to get new appointment told I would now been seen after April 1st when they are going private.. this seems just a ruse to get me to pay twice as much instead of having my usual NHS check up. Not happy at all Sylvia Drage

I was walking out of my front door to attend appointment had a phone call stating appointment was cancelled, gave me the earliest next appointment in 13 months time November 2023,obviously a load of lies as hey presto now gone private, when I was notified of the practice going private they also said my nhs appointment for November was cancelled.

Dear Michel Watling, We do have several Dentist vacancies at your practice and are actively trying to recruit. Unfortunately, recruitment of dentist’s post pandemic is proving extremely difficult. There is a shortage of dentists in the UK which is making attracting dentists to certain areas of the country more difficult, and we are experiencing challenges in recruiting to the area. However, we are looking at all options to attract and re-locate dentists to your practice. Please be assured that the vacancies are not through any lack of trying or apathy on our part, purely that recruiting dentists, is proving difficult. However, whilst we are recruiting, if you experience a dental emergency, e.g. swelling or bleeding then you can still contact the practice and they will triage your symptoms and advise you how obtain emergency assistance until the practice is fully staffed. I understand that this news will be disappointing. Kind regards Julie Wood – {my}dentist patient services Team Leader
