  1. Review titled Dentists still misleading on accepting NHS Patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Karina Ryan - Posted on 19 January 2025

As a disabled NHS Care Navigator, I am shocked and appalled by the ruthless dentistry in this area. This is why people are toothless running around Bognor Regis. How on earth are you supposed to care for teeth that, once gone, cannot be replaced if your local area isn't accepting local patients? I just had to go back into Croydon over the weekend just to get my teeth cleaned for under £100 as when I tried to register with this practice, I had the same experience as 1 commenter who left a 1-star review last March 2024 and threatened to inform the health ministers. I'm drafting a letter to NHS Sussex ICB and then complain to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. I never would have moved here if dentists were more forthcoming with the truth about not accepting new NHS patients.

We are sorry to receive your review and apologise for any misunderstanding caused. The NHS site does say that practices are taking on new NHS patients where availability allows. We do regularly assess our NHS availability, in addition we are looking into recruiting more NHS dentists whenever we can, but this is proving difficult across the country at this time. Kind regards, mydentist Patient Support Team

I saw the Hygienist yesterday she was a very nice lady and unusually she took things at my pace and not rushing along and always told me what was happening

  3. Review titled Not Accepting Nhs Patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lee - Posted on 21 March 2024

Despite nhs services website stating this dentist practice is accepting new adult patients 18 and over, it turns out via phone call that this information is incorrect as they are not. The mydentist website does not contain any information regarding acceptance of nhs patients, other than Nhs costs. There are no Nhs dentists on the Nhs website within a 15 mile radius of Bognor accepting Nhs patients. Please update Health Minister, as she appears to be deluded in her recent interview on Good Morning Britain.

Dear Lee, Thank you for your feedback. Recently a Dental Recovery Plan was announced by the Government to aid expansion of NHS dental services in England. In order for a dental practice to be able to participate, it is required that they publicise on the NHS website that the dental practice is accepting new NHS patients. However, following this web page update, we have received an unprecedented number of enquiries into the practice from new patients seeking care which, has far exceeded the practices new patient NHS capacity. We do understand that not being able to access a new NHS patient appointment at this time will be disappointing, however, I would advise you to contact the practice again in the coming weeks, when they may have further information on their NHS appointment situation. Kind regards, Julie - mydentist Patient Services Team Leader
