Having been unable to book for over 6 months I finally had an appointment. When I turned up ahead of time, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled and a text message had been sent yesterday. I explained to the receptionist that the last text I received was yesterday and it confirmed my appointment for today. I showed the text message to the receptionist and then asked why I had not received a phone call to notify me of the cancellation. The receptionist simply said that is odd and offered to rebook my appointment for 2 weeks' time. After explaining that I had taken time off work and had lost money in attending this appointment I asked if a discount could be applied at my next appointment for the inconvenience caused. Without even looking up from the screen the receptionist said "No". I was shocked and distressed at the discourteous response and sheer lack of empathy or apology! No thought was given to my circumstance and my concern was simply brushed aside. I was treated with total disregard. A little courtesy goes a long way and so does a lack of it, especially in such difficult times of financial pressure. This is not the first negative experience I've had with the reception staff and if I had the choice I would register elsewhere. I have always had a great experience with the excellent dentists and hygienists at this practice, so it is very disappointing that this good customer service and polite attitude doesn't extend to the reception staff who are incredibly rude. My experience was terrible, and I'm sorry to say I would not recommend this practice to anyone else.
