  2. Review titled Very unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

The worst practice I have entered, rude condesending, arrogant ,cocky medical staff, who talked badly about me in my presence to another member of staff.medical staff wouldn’t provide any explanation as to why they wanted to follow a particular course of treatment and stated if I didn’t agree with what they were saying I should leave the practice.! I was told this 3 times.

Thankyou so much for sorting me out between Christmas and New Year. The staff were excellent, really patient centered and professional. Never thought I'd have a good experience having a tooth pulled out but here we are.

  5. Review titled No Communication with Patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andrew Bridge - Posted on 19 June 2023

My daughter has been registered with this practice to receive routine dental treatment for the past 10 or so years. Today I called to arrange for her to have a check up to look at a compacted wisdom tooth to be told that the practice could no longer give routine treatment. No communication with patients, no letters, email, phone call or text to confirm this - just a receptionist politely telling me that I would have to find a new dentist for my daughter. Where is the duty of care? Where is the concern for patients to get the best care they can? Feel totally let down by this practice due to their failure to communicate.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I am sorry that you are unhappy to have not been offered an appointment at Oak House Dental Centre. Under NHS Regulations, patients have not been registered with an NHS dental practice since 2006. As a result of new commissioning arrangements, Oak House have reduced capacity to provide routine care to patients. As a result we are not currently able to offer check-up appointments. If you contact the Lancashire Dental Helpline on 0300 1234 010 they will advise you of which practices currently have spaces for NHS patients and they can also help or advise you with any dental problems you may have.

  6. Review titled Emergency dental care only

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Peter Billington - Posted on 10 February 2023

At my last appointment I was told that the practice will no longer carry out normal dental care but would only provide emergency treatment and that I should find a new dental practice. I would be pleased if you could let me know why there was no prior consultation with patients on this change and no direct notification that the change had been put into effect.

Dear Mr Billington Thankyou for your feedback regarding dental treatment at Oak House Dental Centre. You were correctly advised and that from 1st April 2022 we will provide only Specialist Dental Services and Urgent Care at Oak House Dental Centre. Since 2008 there has been 'No Registration' with a dental practice and as such obligations to patients exist only as long as the patient is in an active course of treatment, hence there is no patient consultation or direct notification of change, this is in contrast to, for example a doctors patient list. If you contact the Lancashire Dental Helpline on 0300 1234 010 they will advise you of which practices currently have spaces for NHS patients. Kind regards Mrs D Valentine Dental Service Co-ordinator

  7. Review titled No longer offering checkups

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Louise Shaw - Posted on 17 April 2023

It was very disappointing to telephone to arrange a check up to be told that this service is no longer being offered. I felt for the poor girl who had to explain, she was obviously embarrassed by having to relay this information. I have a lump in my mouth and no dentist to check it out. If it is something serious, I will certainly be taking this further.
