I was asked to book a private appointment for scaling. I am aware scaling is covered under Band 1 (or Band 2 for extensive gum disease) if clinically indicated, and it is indicated in my case. All I was told is I could have simple scaling done, but I need it 'extensively' which could only be done privately. That in itself means there is a clinical indication to do it and I should have been offered that under NHS. I am still unsure why I could not have scaling done under NHS. I understand dentist is newly qualified, however no introduction was made at the start. Dentist offered apologies for longer wait. However, I was also told about needing fillings for cavities, but I was not explained benefits or risks of the procedure or the types of fillings offered until I asked myself (I am a medical professional myself). This is required for an informed decision-making process. Staff were courteous. I am therefore left with mixed opinion, overall neutral.

Following an examination, your Dentist should provide you with all options available to you to meet your Dental needs, including NHS and provide. I had 6 hours treatment in July with full composite rebuilds on 20 teeth having had significant tooth erosion. The dentist and dental nurse were outstanding, explaining every stage of the treatment, calm and reassuring. Having always feared dentists my dentist has a way of ensuring the whole treatment was calm and efficient. The results were amazing and I have the confidence now to smile again without trying to hide my teeth! The receptionist team are very efficient and friendly. You get the impression the practice is very well run and I would be more than happy to recommend to anyone looking for a new practice.

We joined Oliver’s Battery dental surgery at the beginning of the year and we cannot fault their practice at all. They have shown so much care and patience towards my two children. My son who once was anxious of our previous dentist now looks forward to seeing his dentist and says ‘I love my dentist!’. Even when my son had an emergency appointment after an accident at the park, they provided him with so much care and comfort. Also, not forgetting the amazing ladies on the reception who are so supportive, helpful and kind. I cannot recommend this dental surgery enough! They provide outstanding service and care each and every time. Although we travel a little further than we used to, it is worth it! Thank you so much to everyone at Oliver’s Battery Dental surgery!

This is the best dental practice I’ve ever had. My dentist is not only lovely to me but so welcoming and lovely to my two little ones even when they aren’t in for an appointment. I am always made to feel welcomed by him. Today, both my kids were screaming and I was so embarrassed! But my dentist reassured me it was no bother. Dental hygienists and receptionist staff came to my rescue to settle the kids whilst I got my check. I cannot thank them enough because I was truly mortified at how loud my son in particular was screaming. I was even reassured when leaving that they didn’t mind and were happy to help and that it really wasn’t a problem. The staff here have always been amazing and understanding. My teeth are always problematic and my dentist is amazing with dealing with all the problems I have. They always manage to fit me in to be seen and I cannot recommend them enough to people. I love it here and hope they never change. Each individual there is a real asset and after today I wish I could name them all and thank them personally. My dentist and the hygienist were also phenomenal on my daughter’s first appointment. She was distressed as she hadn’t had a check in a while and they were patient, offered her stickers, let her sit on my lap and sing to her to keep her distracted and to make sure he could get a proper check of her teeth. This place is a real 10/10.

Just returned from a new patient examination/appointment and I could not be more pleased. This is a lovely surgery with extremely friendly, helpful and professional staff. It is also away from the busy town centre which makes access and parking very easy. My thanks to everyone for making my somewhat nervous visit a most relaxing and happy one.

I cracked a tooth at lunchtime today, 4 hours later I was seen as an urgent case. I am going on holiday in the early hours of the morning. The Dentist was so kind and reassuring with me. He gave me all the options available to me and gave me faith that my tooth would be ok on holiday. A super practise. So pleased to be a patient here and know that you are looked after so well. I needed an emergency appointment and this was made for the same day. Very helpful receptionist on the phone and also all staff very pleasant and helpful. Seen by an experienced dentist ( not my normal dentist within the practice) who was very thorough and fully explained what was wrong. Thank you to you all.

I had an emergency appt and the staff were very accommodating . My dentist spent a good deal of time with me and consulting others in my X-ray. Thank you for offering such care at short notice when I needed it most.

Very professional highly skilled dentist. Knew exactly what help I needed and referred me to the hospital for a consultation. Fitted a new denture expertly, no fiddling or messing about. Super dentist. Thank you.
