Review titled Great people
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Terry Hurley - Posted on 02 September 2024
My wife and I visited the practice for the first time a few weeks ago. How glad we were to have moved to this practice. The reception team were on the ball, everything ran on time and the dental surgeon and her assistant were friendly and professional. We went away vey pleased with service we received.

Review titled Money grabbing

I have had to visit twice. The first time was for a check-up and they rushed me through within 5 minutes, without making any notes and only checking 2 teeth. The 2nd was more thorough as it was an appointment for a tooth ache but no resolution as it was only an ache, and not an acute pain

Review titled Dreadful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an abscess that was huge and extremely painful and also had a high temperature. I phoned for an emergency appointment on a Friday. I managed to get seen but the dentist barely even looked and said they couldn’t see anything so come back on the Monday if it was still bad. I was in agony on the Saturday so went to the pharmacy and they looked at it and said I urgently needed antibiotics. I got another appointment at the dentist and the same dentist said they would give me two days of antibiotics as I didn’t really need them. The abscess burst that evening and the pain was phenomenal. I took painkillers all weekend and got another appointment for the Monday and saw a different dentist who was great and did a really good job and also gave me a strong course of antibiotics for a week. They couldn’t believe how badly mismanaged I had been. I have now left the practice and have joined a different one. I wish I had looked at the reviews before joining. Steer clear if you value your dental health.

Review titled Humiliating
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have never felt so humiliated or intimidated before. I am registered as an NHS patient and the receptionist insisted that I pay for my treatment although they said they would only charge me the same amount that an NHS patient would pay so it would free up a place for a child or someone on benefits. They kept insisting and I was made to feel so uncomfortable, as it was in front of other patients and so embarrassed that I agreed. I have been paying National Insurance for over 40 years and I feel it was because of my age and gender and because I looked anxious that they chose to pick on me. Going to the dentist is extremely stressful for me as I have a very rare medical condition which makes going to the dentist extremely painful. The visit got worse with the dentist not even asking about any medical conditions, repeating questions asked only seconds before by the assistant which were the most irrelevant questions instead of asking me important questions that were relevant. Even after telling them I had two very relevant medical conditions they didn’t ask what they were, how they would affect the treatment and didn’t write them down. The examination was the briefest examination I have ever had and I would seriously question if I was actually seen by a dentist. They then said I needed to go back for a review in 3 months. The dentist took x-rays but then stood in front of the screen when explaining them so I was unable to see what they were talking about. Because of the stress caused I now have severe pain. If that is what a visit to the dentist is now like post-Covid then I will not be going to the dentist again.

i had 3 teeth taken out and 3 put on my other dentures, the experience was so painful, after i had the new teeth put on my older dentures they just didn't fit and was told to put plenty of cement on them, i was left with teeth that was no where near to fitting and in pain. i couldn't even eat, it looks as if there's one service for NHS patents and one for paying customers .i was told he would make me a new set and given a date middle of July. so i turned to a dentist technician and she was shocked at the state, anyway i have now got a new service of which i am so very happy with and all made in less time than your dentist going to take my first moulding , thank god i made the right decision,

I am just writing to express my sincere thanks to the beautiful and friendly Dentist (long hair and prominent brown eyes) and the team for looking after me so well on Friday. Having a Root Tooth Canal is never going to be a pleasant experience but you all did your very best to ensure that it was undertaken in an informed, professional and pain free manner. To have the time to allow me to ask questions before and after the procedure was very reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

Review titled Very disappointed

I have been a patient of this practice a long time, the receptionist and assistances and the dentist and assistants have always been professional and friendly making it feel really welcome going in, until today. I had heard recently that my dentist was suddenly leaving, so I went in today to check ,and got greated exceptionally coldly by 4 or 5 members behind the reception..not the normal friendly people whom knew me but complete cold unfriendly staff. I enquired on my dentist and simply got told he had left and that was that. Having been a patient many many years I was completely shocked by the unfriendly atmosphere, it was like a different dentist. Please may I find where my dentist has gone? As when you find a dentist you trust its not nice to loose them ? I am sorry for my finding but its not a nice place right now

Review titled Fantastic and Sensitive Staff

We had to have an emergency appointment because my partner required an urgent extraction. Rang up at about 2pm in a panic as my partner was in horrific pain to enquire about the possibility of an emergency appointment. We were not registered as patients. The receptionist was amazing on the phone, and managed to book us in half an hour later! Once we arrived, the receptionists were incredibly friendly and understanding of the horrible situation we were in. 15 minutes after waiting, we went in to see the dentist. Both myself and my partner are very nervous and apprehensive of dentists due to previous traumatic encounters. But this dentist was truly amazing. They took on board how nervous we both were, and delivered the most heartfelt and considerate service. We were thinking our only option was to go private, but Park Dental has changed our minds. What a truly fantastic experience - thanks to all who keep it going. Our first priority was to get both of us registered as soon as we could so that we could keep seeing this dentist, which the dentist themselves and receptionist took care of.
