Review titled Avoid if possible!!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2023
Joined as a NHS patient, on the first appointment the surgery doesn't seem hygienic to be in operation! There was no sign of any cleaning of instruments between patients (I visited as a family) and there was an overwhelming smell of sweat throughout the surgery and particularily in the treatment rooms. Staff were rude, and generally seemed annoyed with each other, nothing was explained clearly, we felt like a burden to the staff. Having an X-ray was an experience, may has well been in a broom cupboard. All in all not a pleasant experience, based on the cleanliness and general quality of facilities it is clear very little consideration is for the patient. When we left the waiting room was full, so it would seem numbers count more that the quality, I would be very reluctant to have any work completed by this practice.

Review titled Only want the money.

First time that I come to a dentist in United Kingdom. I call them because I had a pain in a teeth and they gave me an appointment for the next day that I agreed to pay. When I arrived there I asked that I would like to register in the NHS (I don't really know how it works) and the only answer was "but after the appointment". I already agree to pay and I didn't understand the insistence with register after and don't give me the information about the process. I went to the appointment and I said that I wanted a basic review (look for cavities) and specially the teeth. They only review the tooth that hurts. They haven't check anything else. When I finished I went again to asks to register in NHS. They start to talk really fast and I didn't understand. They gave me an email address to request to be register in the NHS, what I did. At this point in time, no answer. I think I am not register. Really bad service.

Review titled Very disappointed

First checkup appointment at this dentist as an NHS patient recently registered. Was not very impressed at all unfortunately, the dentist I saw genuinely sounded disappointed that she couldn't find more wrong with me teeth! Barely looked in my mouth and hardly touched my teeth. Took two X-rays and advised I needed a filling on bottom tooth, because this was in an area where it wasn't easily visible said she could only offer me a mercury filling under NHS. If I wanted a white composite one it would be done via private! I was baffled and when I said I would leave the work for now to reflect she couldn't get me out of the room quick enough. Only interested in how much money she could charge me for work. I am now actively seeking a new dentist and I definitely would not recommend this practice.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently visited the practice to have a filling and a tooth out , the dentist and assistant were brilliant, I was nervous as expected and straight away both assistants at the desk were extremely lovely and put me at my ease, and said we are all here for you, and the dentist was careing, gentle, and talked me through the Procedure, she had a lot of difficulty extracting my tooth but I was comfortable and pain free , she was fantastic, I could not fault them in any way.

Review titled Poor service for NHS patients
Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned in as have lost a filling which is painful. Next NHS appointment in 3 weeks time but can choose a private appointment almost immediately. I am registered NHS and now only one dentist at this surgery who sees NHS patients when there used to be 3. Can’t afford private treatment. Have been with this surgery for many years and always had a wonderful service until it all changed recently now the whole service is very poor.

Review titled They can be okay
Rated 1 star out of 5

When I had my teeth removed was okay had nothing to say bad except the aggression but since; They started work on a root canal without giving the pain killer injection time to work (couple months ago). Went in the other day for a filling they done multiple injections then made me wait in the waiting room for over 40 mins before starting the work mind you they didn’t inject it into my gums at all so I could feel my teeth and gums but not my lips or my nose. They took so long after the injections I could feel everything again and was in pain, then gave me another injection (not in my gum) then made me wait 30 mins to carry on the work which I still felt and was in pain the hole time. They have missed problems with my teeth like a black hole in one of my rear teeth on the side. Saying my teeth are fine just to go for a check up a week later and then telling me I need more fillings.. I feel like they make excuses to work on my teeth That are fine and don’t cause any problems to point out the teeth that do later on.. my mother also goes to this dentist and has complained about being them being ruff, aggressive and inconsiderate… We both have found them rude at times and care less for NHS patients to there private paying patients.. I would not recommend to anyone and I’m actively looking for a new dental practice…

Review titled Rapidly gone downhill - poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5

Have been going to this dentist for the last 15 years with absolutely no complaint. Previous dentist could be a little idiosyncratic but he and all the staff were always friendly, have a little joke with the kids and discussed any concerns and would always do anything necessary (e.g. scale and polish) as part of the appointment. Was called before this appointment to say our dentist had left. Arrived to a sparse reception, gone is any semblance of decoration, empty picture frames on the wall. Reception staff all new, dentist staff all new. Entered Dentist room to be hit with a wall of Body Odour, extremely off-putting. Daughters in and out of the chair in minutes with absolutely no discussion of anything. Partners check equally quick, Dentist only seeming interested to inform her of plaque needing a Hygienist appointment. My treatment slightly longer with a more thorough check and X-ray but again the same push for needing a Hygienist appointment. Seems to me a complete change of ownership/staff with the only interest being to get people in/out as quickly as possible and rather than do a quick Scale/Polish as before more interested in "upselling" Hygienist appointments. Very poor service, will be looking for another Dentist going forward.
