After being a patient on denplan for over 25 years with the practice. I changed two months ago to NHS, due to denplan being too expensive, I was told this was fine and I had been accepted. I made an appointment for a check up, with having toothache. I was sent the link to update medical records. Turned up for my appointment and was left waiting for a bit. Then the dentist said only one dentist was doing NHS and I would have to reschedule with her another day. I said I had already been accepted two months ago. I was told that someone had made a mistake and I couldn't have my appointment today, because he was only doing private patients. I feel after years of being with this practice, I have been treated really bad. Why let me make the appointment, send me the medical questionnaire, then wait until I am sat in the dentist chair with toothache, to tell me.

Been with this practice for donkeys years and on the whole, they have been very competent. Without any warning or notification, they removed me from their NHS list as I hadn't seen them in 2+years. Clearly, I wasn't profitable enough and they're hoping my replacement will be more needy and expensive to the NHS. What are the chances of me getting on an NHS list now? The taxpayer subsides their university training. If this is now standard practice, then shame on the dental profession.
