   I was taken off the NHS patient list without warning or any communication because I had not booked a dentist check-up for the past couple of years. While there might be policies on what can get you removed as a patient, these are not mentioned to the patient at any point. This practice also pushes people towards private treatment, when treatment is possible on the NHS - my husband was told that the only way for him was to get an implant (not available on the NHS), but when he got a second opinion, another dentist was able to sort the problem out with a simple root canal.
