  1. Review titled Do not recommend - against NHS policy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2025

My last appointment was an emergency appointment to remove a tooth I had been to see them about three months prior which was infected. I was given antibiotics but there was no follow up and they had no appointments available. The tooth was finally removed after months of agony, but when it was time to pay I was informed that I would have to pay the full price of an extraction (£76) because my previous appointment was also an urgent appointment (£26). However, I was not informed that it was an emergency appointment at the time. Had I been informed, I would have insisted on a follow up appointment, which they of course failed to book me in for straight after my appointment, because that would mean I’d pay on the lower band of the payscale. I think in the future if a patient has an infection and you provide antibiotics the practice should book them in for a follow up instantly. That’s good aftercare, that’s good practice. What they did to me felt malicious. Before using their service, I strongly suggest that you check the policy (see below) around nhs dental care thoroughly as it seems this practice simply want your money while only providing half the care. According to the NHS website: “If, within 2 calendar months of completing a course of treatment, you need more treatment from the same or a lower charge band, such as another filling, you do not have to pay anything extra. If the additional treatment needed is in a higher band, you'll have to pay for the new NHS course of treatment. After 2 months have passed since completing a course of treatment, you'll have to pay the NHS charge band for any further NHS dental treatment.” So if you have any treatment by this practice be sure to book in a follow up appointment within two months or else you can kiss your money goodbye.

  2. Review titled Thieves!!! Scammers!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Abu - Posted on 23 February 2025

I came with issues with a few problems with my existing teeth bridges problem a few of my teeth were wobbly. So I went to the first appointment for them to check my mouth. first payment of band 1 was charged to me. After the Dentist Dr saw my mouth notified me verbally what work he would be doing and what I would have to pay prior. He promised me the following work if I paid another £292.30 he said a good clean of any of the real teeth left (which hasn’t been done yet) Only removed 3 teeth so far and also had a full x-ray. A full mouth denture promised too. I have a lot of molar teeth missing so to help me eat temporarily he made me a partial denture which was clearly mentioned for temporary usage as he took full measurement of my mouth and xray and promised to make me a full mouth denture so I don’t worry about my appearance. I had a last appointment 23/10/2024 in which the Dr didn’t do any work just wanted to see how my gums are healing for the future full denture and also promised that I will receive an appointment after 3 months via sms. As my gums will be healed by then fully and I also have my full denture ordered and made and will able to collect when I receive my appointment. I had to call in last week as we are in 2025, January passed I didn’t receive any sms messages. I called to complain question is my denture ready and why they haven’t sent me a sms appointment as promised. Receptionist seemed confused like there was nothing known to them on my notes about my denture so she booked me a appointment for 6/02/2025. I also have a problem one of my root canal came off. So I thought I will get this fixed in the appointment. I went in Jan’25 to the appointment the manager is moaning that I came in after 3 months there are no records of me its been wiped off and told me to fill up/sign some paper because I will be charged for nhs treatment. When I questioned I paid why do I pay again. She said I’ve been refunded. When I showed the bank statements that no refund has been made. She refused to see any of my proof. She left me and went to speak to the dentist dr. I don’t know what they discussed the dr called me in to treat me. I confronted him questioning does he recognise me . He replied yes and apologised I asked him where is my full denture for my mouth he is denying he mentioned these treatments he claims everything is done. When I was upset and angry I questioned why are you lying, you haven’t cleaned my teeth gave me temporary partial denture for my molar so I can eat better. He is denying everything denying the full treatment plan. I needed my root canal tooth fixed but I refused to let him to check any further. I was scared to as they are no trust in the services dishonest and can’t trust Dr or any staff members. The Manager shouted at me threatening to call the Police she was in aggressive manner towards me. She told me not to bother to make an formal complaint as they will need accept it. She lying she wont tolerate me.

  3. Review titled Awful. Poor equipment and unhygienic

Rated 1 star out of 5

The practice is terrible. The room was worse for wear and the equipment very very old compared to other dentists. I was shocked. After my treatment I had to drink the mouth wash from a plastic cup and then was asked to spit it out into another plastic cup because the sink beside the chair wasn’t working to flush the spit away!!!! The dental nurse took the cup I had spat into, away by hand…Disgusting. Midway through my treatment the nurse had to leave because there was the piece of equipment needed in the room. Someone else was using it… she said they’re were only to of them???!!!…The equipment is old and my particular dentist was very cold and to the point…But if you worked in a room like this, it probably has a negative effect on your attitude towards patience . I will not be returning.

  4. Review titled Disorganised and Poor Customer Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kevin Kuma - Posted on 15 March 2023

Monday 27th February: I was booked for a dental check-up at 10.15. Arrived early and was kept waiting for 40 minutes. Having asked, after later people were called for later appointments, when I was to be seen I was assured I would be next. I was not. Left after 45 minutes. I called back the same day to ask to reschedule. Was confirmed, on the phone for Wednesday 15th March at 09.45. Wednesday 15th March: I arrived early for this appointment and was asked if I received a confirmation text message. I had not and there was no record of my appointment. Same day I requested a check-up and was confirmed over the phone for Monday 27th March at 11.30. I called back again later the same day to reconfirm and asked to speak to another receptionist to ensure this was seconded. I advised I would call again on the Friday 24th March to confirm again. This is truly appalling. Customer service the first time was extremely poor. Not only was I not advised, though I had been clearly waiting for more than 20 minutes when I would be seen when I did ask the response was dismissive and barely engaged. At this point I was considering booking a private appointment, however this costs £55 on a nearby private surgery. The amount of time I have wasted simply trying to attend an appointment costs the company I work for in productivity possibly more than £55. I want to log my experience in writing in the hope that someone identifies serious efficiency and organisational failings at this surgery.
