My recent experience with this dentist has been ridiculous. It was not possible to get through on the phones (I tried multiple times over several days), I received no response to my email and was unable to book online. Finally managed to get an emergency appointment which was confirmed twice by email after consistently calling from the minute they opened. I arrived ahead of schedule, was checked in and waiting for 15 mins before being called over to the desk and informed my appointment had been cancelled because the dentist was overrunning. Having been in pain for several days you can imagine how well that went down. I refused to move having taken time off work and travelling for the appointment. You cannot have someone come all the way in and be sat in the waiting room to then cancel their appointment because the dentist just decides to. I was advised it could be booked for the following day which I rejected as who was to say the same thing wouldn’t happen again. The receptionists were good, they negotiated with the dentist and managed to get me seen but the dentist once met, was not happy with having so do so. I very much feel sorry for the receptionists who no doubt get the brunt of peoples frustration when the dentist cancels someone’s appointment. During my wait they were ringing people and cancelling more appointments. Quite comically my check up appointment booked the following week, months in advance was cancelled (good job I checked whilst there!) because the dentist no longer worked past 1.30pm on Tuesday anymore! I assume they were going to call me the morning of the appointment rather than allow me to go there only to be told again that it was cancelled?? I understand there are pressures on most services these days but you cannot expect to treat your existing customers this way. If you do, your receptionists need a significant raise to make the grief they will no doubt receive, worth it! I was left upset, in a great deal of pain and very frustrated, having to beg for a dentist to see me as I had booked as I should have amd arriving as directed and that is not fair to put people through that experience.
