Review titled A positive experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Stephen Wadsworth - Posted on 23 November 2024
I wanted to leave a positive review as a thankyou to the dentist and staff at the Chirk practice. I had some teeth out ( my request), this was the first time I was free of pain for a while, it was gums and loose teeth. One tooth was particularly resistant but she (the dentist) made sure I was comfortable as possible and eventually the dinosaur gave up its grip. My dentist and assistant had a great sense of humour and had me at my ease through out my visits, I had a quick recovery afterwards. My wait for an appointment, like a lot of dentists had been tricky, but I have been with this practice since it opened over a decade ago. So my appointment was made at my last visit 4 months ago, plus 2 weeks when the appointment was shifted. Once I got my appointment and saw the dentist for the check up, she had me in by the end of the week. I'm now sat here typing with a nice cup of tea pain and ache free. I've found if you are straight forward with them and don't beat around the bush, explain your worries etc. and they will accommodate accordingly. I hope this message finds you well and a big thank you to the practice in Chirk.

Review titled Keep cancelling appointments
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2024
I joined this practice in April when they took on new patients but haven't been able to see a dentist as I've had my appointment cancelled 3 times. Every time you get a text message cancelling the appointment last minute and you spend ages trying to get through on the phone to be told no appointments for another 3 months. Today I turned up for my appointment and it had been cancelled again and I hadn't even been informed. I had to take time off work for the appointment. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't in. Then another member of staff came out to help and booked an appointment for next week. She assured me that this appointment would not be cancelled. Then 2 hours later I then get another text message telling me that that appointment has been cancelled too! They have obviously taken on too many patients but it is getting very frustrating with all the appointments being cancelled. Especially if you work full time and need to take time off to attend

Review titled Constant Cancellations
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Paul - Posted on 05 September 2024
I've been a patient here for a long time but since the back end of 2023 I have seen first hand the amount of cancellations that happen before i can get a successful appointment. My Son had 3 appointments cancelled on him, usually giving 1 or 2 days notice, and then not able to book in again for another month or so. It happened in June and then wasn't able to book until 5th August. The appointment was cancelled that morning and had to re-book again. The same has just happened with myself too. I've had this appointment booked for months, but just received a text message to tell me it's cancelled and i have to call back next week to re-book. It's obvious that they have taken on too many new patients and are unable to keep appointments for existing patients. Posting all over social media in November 2023 that they have taken on 4,600 new patients.... I was also told recently when trying to make a same day appointment that they only have 4 slots available on the morning for emergency appointments. So good luck getting one.

Review titled Cancellations
Rated 1 star out of 5

My daughter has been with this dentist for years, last year I had to cancel and appt twice for her due to illness and was threatened with a social worker if we didn't make the 3rd appt which we did. Fast forward to this year been trying to get an appointment for my daughter since January and this is now the second time they've canceled and try to pick her back in in three months time, no real explanation no nothing, they aren't routine they are meant to be keeping an eye incase she needs braces?! Makes me wonder if they're just trying to push NHS patients out as ive seen theyre doing this to most. There is no professionalism when you ring, they act like you're wronging them.

Review titled Amazing
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anthony Aldred - Posted on 10 June 2024
Having like many more searched for a dentist for years, i was accepted by talking teeth Widnes and registered. Had my initial consultation at end of April and was decided i needed an extraction. Attended few days ago and ended up having 3 teeth out. My whole experience has been extremely positive with this practice. Had my appt cancelled but easily made a new one then was offered an earlier appt. Spotlessly clean, dentist and assistant really friendly and explained everything step by step and checked on me at every stage. Special mention to the reception staff. 2 pleasant ladies who are a breath of fresh air to medical reception staff. Was made to feel at home and both had smile on their faces throughout. Well done. Couldn't recommend this practice enough. Thank you.

Review titled Outstanding treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Have had 2 appointments in the last few weeks with the hygienist . I cannot praise her enough , she listened and was really considerate of my health problems . I was made to feel really comfortable and felt no pain at all . First time I have never been anxious about a dental appointment and would happily attend another appointment with her in the future

Review titled Outstanding dentist.

I suffer extreme anxiety and i've been terrified of dentists my whole life, I've had major dental work done over the last few months, the dentist was brilliant I could not recommend him more and have done to many friends and family who feel they can also be seen as they have witnessed how well my dentist treated me I didn't show fear hardly at all near the last few times of going, he treated me with extreme care and attention and usually where I wouldn't enter the building he was what has made me keep going back. Honestly hand on heart best dentist I've ever seen and I'm now 42. I've not smiled for many many years he's slowly but surely helped me massively overcome my fear and to smile with confidence.
