Review titled Disappointing Experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Hadeel - Posted on 09 December 2024
I had a truly disappointing experience at Briars Dental Practice, which I feel compelled to share to prevent others from going through the same ordeal. My 18-year-old son has been waiting for almost two years to have his braces fitted. following several appointments we finally reached the day he was due to get his braces. However, when the time came, the dentist suddenly refused to go ahead with the treatment. The reason? The dentist claimed my son might faint during the fitting—simply because I, as a mother, expressed concerns about how he might react to the procedure. Despite my son being healthy and fully ready for the treatment, the dentist took my worries out of context, and instead of addressing them professionally, he denied my son the treatment he has been waiting for. I pleaded with the dentist and even called to beg when we got back home. I was told, "Take your time!" and that he would refer my son to a care centre for what seemed like a completely unnecessary medical assessment. The referral would mean even more waiting, and we have heard nothing since October 2024. It’s incredibly disheartening to see that a dentist, who should have the skills and professionalism to handle situations like this, chose to dismiss my son's treatment without even trying to work with us. My son is now struggling with depression and anxiety because of this delay. He had been counting down the days for this treatment, and now, he’s stuck in limbo—once again denied the care he needs. I would never recommend Briars Dental Practice. It’s clear to me that they lack the professional understanding needed to treat patients in a compassionate and competent manner. No one should have to go through what we have endured, and I’m deeply disappointed in the way my son was treated. If you’re looking for a dental practice that genuinely cares for its patients, I suggest looking elsewhere.
