I asked for two types of treatment your group agreed & said that the treatment was available So I started with private treatment for the purpose of a RTA claim The second part of the treatment which would run alongside the private treatment (above ) was a temporary bridge removal of two roots & a temper crown for a damage back tooth that was cutting into my inside left mouth Your receptionist had not performed the correct function & did not complete forms that would allow the second part of treatment within the nhs I at the moment receive universal credit since I am unable to work due to the RTA When I asked for the treatment appointment within the nhs the receptionist made the appointment & stated this was accepted When I attended the appointment the staff stated the above then when I went to reception they stated it would be a payment only treatment Your group either has no real structure or just no organisation within its reception or management This is the second mistake in treatment it is bias unfair & so mis managed Your group needs to put this right it is important to make your patients aware of how the private is structured & the nhs treatment & what provisions are made for each I registered with your practice last year & I have paid for private treatment to allow treatment when I receive the RTA claim but for more immediate consideration should be the nhs treatment that I asked for over six months ago if your staff at reception were more in tune with what the patients were asking for mistakes would be at a minimum As with most professions your front of house is anything but in the know more interested in their self glorification than getting the job in hand !

Review titled A disappointing service
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 June 2023
My checkup lasted about 4 minutes during which time I was asked several questions relating to my general health and dental routine which I understand is of value as a general survey. My fillings were checked and I was told my teeth would be scaled which was written on my dental sheet. However this did not happen. They were given a cursory look over, not the usual scale I have previously had and I was told to make an appointment with the hygienist which I have never had to do before. I have always taken great care of my teeth and was for several years married to a dentist. I got the distinct impression that the dentist, viewed her check up as purely ticking a box and after paying £25.80 felt I was not receiving value for money. I understand NHS dentists are desperate for the government to help improve their valuable service. Before Covid restrictions my check up would have included a scale and polish but now I am expected to pay extra for this service, which as a pensioner I would struggle to pay for. I have been a patient at your surgery for many years and feel disappointed at the service I now receive.

Friendly reception staff and as always efficient and friendly treatment. Would have been five stars if someone had just told me my dentist was running late- she had kindly fitted me in and it wasn’t a problem but if someone had told me I would not have been worrying I had been forgotten. I have been with the practice for 50 years and will be sorry to leave

On time. Interested in my welfare. Took time to explain and let me ask questions. All very good and as pleasant as it could be!

I went in on time today for my appointment but I was disappointed to hear my dentist is going private and I need to pay a payment plan if I wish to stay there. This is unfair as £20 out of my money is a lot for me to pay out. We all should be entitled to see a dentist but not if you can’t afford one!
