How many times my appointment was cancelled not getting another for months later. The dentist took out the wrong Tooth. The receptionists not doing a very good job I had to take my dentures in for repair, when I enquired about getting them back after Eight days I was asked which receptionist I gave them too, then I was told they wouldn’t be back for another three weeks. When I went to get new teeth added to my denture they didn’t have them until I asked to speak to the manager then all of a sudden they appeared. I was also told getting teeth added to my denture would take a month to do when I told my dentist he said No a week which they did come back at that time So as you can see my experience with Elms was an absolute nightmare

The long wait for a less than 5 minute appointment. Regularly I find appointments run around 30 mins at least late. Reception smooth and efficient.

Friendly interaction. Im still very surprised that normal checkups have very limited treatment. It used to be that a small clean was provided. My teeth were fine but not sure what a checkup now offers over a hygenist appointment.

The attention paid during the check and afterwards having filled in my Denplan details and returning them the response from the staff. Already have 5 appointments made for 2023/2024.

My family and I have been with this practice for several decades, but a recent experience has left me shattered. Past experiences at The Elms have been good but in the past three years I have frequently had to rearrange appointments - sometimes 18 months between rescheduled appointments. I was recently diagnosed with gum disease by the hygienist (my dentist had not picked this up) and contacted the surgery to rearrange an appointment. I understand the pressures dentistry is under - so I was happy to reschedule. However I was left feeling bereft after the receptionist informed me my dentist would longer be able to treat me as an NHS patient and my only option was to pay privately. When I stated that I was unable to pay privately I was advised that I could take out a dental plan or NHS website would provide other NHS dentists (there are a very limited number taking NHS patients). As you can imagine in the current economic environment this is an additional cost, and caused significant distress - in fact I cried. I found the approach by this receptionist particularly brutal and have since contacted then surgery to assess my options. Difficult messages need to be handled better.

Clean practice, I noticed this time in particular that the seat had been washed down from the previous patient which I thought was very good. Polite staff
