Review titled 9 month inspection
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’m quite happy with this Practice and with the treatment. The only suggestion I have is for more Receptionists to be on duty at 8.30 a.m.

The interaction with my Granddaughter who is only 12 months to get her use to seeing the dentist and was able to sit on my lap to watch dentist look at my teeth.

A check up is literally looking in my mouth for the 2 mins at a cost of £23 to be told you need to see the hygienist- there’s a cost of living crisis. I get nothing for that £23

Review titled Dreadful treatment of a child and terrible communication
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs C - Posted on 15 February 2023
My daughter (12) has been with this practice for a few years and always had a lovely dentist, however, this visit this time has been a disaster. Firstly, it was booked for December and when I called to check the time, they said that she didn't have an appointment booked, so she had to wait for her fillings until February. We arrived today to a rude receptionist who said we did not have an appointment. I showed her the text reminder and eventually she found the appointment - maybe if she had listened when i gave the name, she would have found it the first time, she was so distracted she clearly was not listening. When we did she the dentist, she was very rude and her manner towards my child was terrible. She tried to do fillings without numbing her first and was very put out when my daughter said she wanted it to be numbed, she then continued after the numbing, but her expectations of a child to keep her mouth open wide with two people leaning on her for over 30 minutes was terrible. Rather than asking her to keep her mouth open wide she kept on abruptly demanding it. My daughter was clearly scared but she did nothing to help her feel at ease. She then gave a prescription without telling us that it needs to be stamped at the desk, so off we trundled to get it filled - only to be turned away by the pharmacy as it was not stamped. When i called to request a new prescription, the receptionist was surprised that I was unaware of the need to have it stamped at the desk - perhaps she felt that my psychic senses should have been working, but it would have been much easier if the dentist had told us to get it stamped at the desk. Absolutely awful visit and I now have a very distressed daughter, one who was scared of the dentist to begin with but is definitely terrified of it now. We won't be returning.

Every one is very polite and my dentist is gentle which I really appreciate tbh! Only thing that I would say is ai don't think getting rid of the divide for the queue in reception is a good idea. People do not understand how to queue and end up standing by the door which is silly when people are trying to get in and out and it also makes the queue extend out into to waiting room which I don't think is good. I would say put the divide back so that people understand the concept of a queue a bit better. It just niggled me when I turned up and it was gone and people weren't queueing very 'cleverly'.

The Elms have really turned things around!... It used to be a nightmate getting parked and the surgery was always over crowded... I can honestly say its now a pleasure. Quiet calm waiting rooms, and plenty of parking!

Thorough inspe tion of my mouth as requested. Unconnected to this visit, but please offer more hygiene appts - waiting so long means I have to have more in depth treatment which is both painful and costly. I am supposed to go every three months but can never get an appt and have to wait far longer.
