Being fifty something and needing dental care with a lifelong extreme fear of dentists isn’t fun and quite often painful in the extreme! After a fairly traumatic issue with a cavity, I couldn’t locate an NHS dentist, so opted to go ‘private’… The reception team were fantastic, arranging an emergency appointment… The dentist himself was a miracle worker, despite being almost eight years since my last dental visit, I was in reasonable shape, only needing three fillings (2 very minor)… After explaining my fears and past issues with dentists, he was calm, patient and explained everything fully as he went about the initial examination… A temporary filling was placed and a follow up appointment made for today… I was dreading the appointment knowing I would need to have my gums ‘numbed’ with a needle, but some fantastic gel and some lighthearted conversation and barely felt any discomfort… While the local anaesthetic was waiting to work, a scale and polish was done.:. The actual fillings were done and all sorted in less than 30 minutes, very professionally and then further care discussed… Over all, absolute miracle workers! I will now be visiting more regularly to prevent further issues.
