Within one week with issue with my tooth was booked in, assessed and able to return same day for procedure. From start to finish all staff were fantastic, polite, friendly. Faultless .

  4. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I don't mind paying for dental work but I thought cleaning was supposed to be In with the charge if the dentist thinks it's needed. I am always told to book appointment with the hygienist which involves an extra charge. Today I was told that I needed to pay upfront for this which is inconvenient when on pension and having use taxis as well. Well I hope they enjoy old folks going without food just because their teeth need an extra clean. Will have to reconsider using them but I suppose the waiting list for another dental practice is too long so I'm stuck but not happy.

Dear Ann, I am sad to read that being asked to pay a deposit to secure your appointment with the hygienist has caused you such offence to leave us a review like this. As per practice policy, it is essential that patients pay a small fee to secure their appointment with the hygienist. This is for all patients and a very common practice amongst all dental practices. Whilst I am unsure if you are booked to have treatment with the Hygienist as part of treatment on the NHS or whether this appointment is purely private, I would like to offer you some reassurance here. As few collectors for NHS dental services, we have the right to request full payment upfront, part payment or full payment upon delivery of service. We consider ourselves fair to our patients and their financial situations, whatever they may be, and equally fair to the services and the management of the resources we provide. Therefore, we only request payment upfront as a deposit for service and then the remainder of payment upon completion of treatment. To us this is fair, fair to you and fair to our duties to our NHS obligations and to our great private services we provide to our patients whom value the service we provide. Practice policies are in place to protect the quality of services we provide. I am sorry on this occasion a policy that serves all our patients has caused you such dissatisfaction. If you would like to discuss your experience with me in more detail I would be happy to hear from you. Yours sincerely, Lisa Emery
