  1. Review titled Very poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

This review is based on mine and my partner's experience over the last 2 years. Online booking has been removed and making appointments is very hard to almost impossible unless its an emergency. The eConsult service is only available for a limited time each day and prohibits you entering more than a few sentences. This makes it impossible to full describe your issues. Doctors are therefore using very limited info to triage people. I did report this to the practice but they claimed - incorrectly - that eConsult allows a lot of text - it most definitely does not. I suffered issues with my back and was unable to get an appointment. I sent an eConsult and simply got told to go to a physio. In fact I'd already seen a physio twice and he'd recommended contacting the doctor! In the end I used some of my savings to pay for a private MRI scan and saw a spinal consultant privately. I'm pleased to say this has made a huge difference to my back pain. I also suffer with stomach issues for the last year or so but have self medicated as its so hard to see a GP. My partner, fairly recently, found a significant sized lump in her breast. She contacted the surgery but was told no appointments were available and their diary was full for the next 4 weeks. She asked if she could book further than 4 weeks ahead and was told this was not possible and that she'd have to phone each week to see if any free appointments were available. She gave up and saw a private GP who confirmed a breast lump and referred her back to the NHS. She was seen quite quickly by the Primrose clinic who specialise in breast lumps and it turned out to be a very large cyst which they drained. So thankfully not breast cancer. But it could easily have been breast cancer. I have contacted the practice but replies to my emails suggest they simply doesn't care. On the plus side each month my partner goes to collect her routine prescription and the surgery is virtually empty. Pre-covid it was a hive of activity with numerous doctors seeing patients. Now it's like the twilight zone with barely any one there. So good news if you like peace and quiet!
