I urgently need to fly to my hometown and i need a fit to fly certificate,My midwife told me that i can get it my gp,i e mailed to my gp and they told me that they can’t give me this document,everyone can get get this document from gb but they didn’t give me appointment and certificate

Dear Patient, We regret to see the 1 star review that you have left our practice. We would hope that if patient have had a negative experience that they would contact us directly so that we can elaborate on the situation more as on this service we can only respond generically to a patient as the posting is anonymous and we cannot publicly post patient information on this forum. Unfortunately, the comment that 'everyone can get this document from the GP' is not entirely correct. In general, Midwives are usually the first point of call for a fit to fly letter being provided when patients are pregnant as they are the clinicians that manage antenatal care. Not all patients are under the GP's for their antenatal care which means that a GP may not have even seen or spoken to a patient regarding their pregnancy at the time of request therefore they would not be able to comment on whether they were fit to fly therefore it is always best for the clinician that is managing the care of the patient to provide the fit to fly letter. All pregnancies and patients differ so it is hard to provide much more detail on this matter without speaking to you directly so please do reach out to the practice to discuss this matter further should you wish to.
