Review titled great practice and great services
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elaine - Posted on 15 October 2024
I arranged a routine appointment with my gp on Thursday and was very pleased to be given one for the following Monday. On being seen, she decided I needed some tests which the practice carry out. I had my tests only a few minutes after original appointment and I also required a referral to another hcp within the practice. This was sorted out very quickly and I had an appointment for half an hour later. So everything fell into place beautifully. I’d like to thank my gp, reception team and the other hcp’s involved on that day. What a fantastic service.

I visited my GP this week and was very impressed with her care and understanding. I have found all Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Alchester to be friendly and helpful.

Review titled Efficient service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Hello, We had such quick service on Monday, we did an e-consult n the afternoon and we're seen and had the antibiotics within two hours which was amazing. The paramedic is amazing with children and knew exactly what was wrong. Patient co-ordinators were very understanding on the phone.

Very bad service. Phoned at 9am for a telephonic appointment but remained caller number 3 for three quarters of an hour.

Review titled Good experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Arthur Jordan - Posted on 22 April 2024
This morning 22/04/2024 I phoned because I was feeling quite ill. I spoke to the coordinator and was immediately given an appointment. When I got to Victoria house I booked in and within 5 minutes was called in. The person I saw was a Parammedic. He was very thorough in his examination and very reassuring when you are unwell and at a low. Thank you.

Review titled Fantastic nurse
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Mrs Eleanor Chown - Posted on 28 February 2024
I had a blood pressure review this morning and, being needle and blood phobic, was not looking forward to it. However, the nurse I saw was so lovely, calming and understanding that I wasn't nearly as anxious as usual. Thank you so much for being so kind and all round fantastic.

Review titled Terrible surgery
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 February 2024
This practice is run so poorly. Their systems are fully designed for the surgery's convenience with no mind to patience experience. Below are some of their rules: - you can only book an appointment on the day by calling at 8am. I've waited for 40 minutes only to be told there are no appointments. I was not allowed to book one for the following day instead. - you can only book to see your doctor. If your doctor isn't working you can't book an appointment. Not even for a day when they're back in. - your doctor might be working at one of 3 surgeries. If you are unable to get to the surgery they are at (regardless of how far it is or your mobility) you can't book in to see another doctor at a closer surgery. - if you are physically at the surgery you are not allowed to book an appointment at reception. You have to call them on the phone. You are also not allowed to all them to add a note to your record for the doctor to see. I'm recovering from major surgery and I'm supposed to have a check up. My doctor is apparently working at the Langford surgery for all of March so I am not allowed to book an appointment at Victoria House which is right next to my house and is the surgery I am registered with. I can't get to the Langford surgery and the receptionist clearly just wanted me off the phone and told me I would just have to find a way to get there. This unhelpfulness is present in every interaction with the front of house staff at these surgeries. I'm moving to another doctors and I would recommend not joining this surgery.

Review titled Extremely helpful
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Yesterday I called for an appointment at 8am, received an appointment for 9am the same morning, wasn't sat down long after arriving before they called my name and the Dr I spoke to (I believe was a paramedic) was very informative about what was causing my symptoms and was very clear when explaining the best way to treat them and get better. He was very clear in the way he explained it all to me making it easy to understand but was also very cheerful and friendly making the trip to the Dr's much more enjoyable so I'd like to say thank you very much for all of his help.

Completed an EConsult , got immediate communication via text / email to confirm receipt and expected contact time. Phone call from reception with a GP appointment on same morning , saw GP full examination completed and full explanation given . Prescription sent to pharmacy which I collected in the afternoon, I try to give time to process as they are so busy at pharmacy. Referred to Bicester community for XRay all done excellent service . Thank you to the team

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

The whole appointment process is so complicated and bureaucratic it seems designed to put people off. And E-consults are cancelled if you don’t do everything spot on.
