  1. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Moved to this surgery last month and it’s so much easier to get an appointment, either on the same day or another day. There is also a physiotherapist at the practice, which is very helpful for musculoskeletal issues.

  2. Review titled Brilliant Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Since the beginning of this year I have had several quite serious health issues. The surgeries have provided me with a great deal of advice and support during this time. The health care professionals including the receptionists, nurses, well being practitioners, health care practitioners and drs have all done their level best to arrange appointments and signposted me to other services in a timely and professional manner. Despite the difficulties facing NHS practitioners, I have always been treated in a courteous and respectful manner. I would like to nominate the surgeries for for their excellent professional practice.

  3. Review titled Bad communication systems

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Kiri - Posted on 23 September 2022

Tried to phone at various times during the day phones always engaged for long periods of time almost as if phones are taken off the hook so to speak. Very disappointed with this practice I sometimes feel that I do not have a GP it’s very worrying.

  4. Review titled Sadly, nice people with simply appalling service and systems

Rated 1 star out of 5

Patient communications is sadly lacking. I accept that telephoning the surgery is now a long winded and time consuming process, but when you explain to the person on the phone and get an appointment, one would think all was well. Discovering it's not a doctor you will see is embarassing for the clinician and awkward for the patient, and then the clinician taloks to the doctor and eventually an appointment is made - from time of first booking to the end date, over 5 weeks. Then, a repeat prescription - statins - is blocked because a review is required. However, the first you know about it is when you are on your last packet, and the first review date is in 3 months time! November, and we are in August. Surely, with such a backlog, perhaps the pharmacist might consider telling patients their review is due, rather than just blocking the repeat from the NHS system and waiting for patients to nearly run out. I might get a repeat before the review, I might not. Surely if a medical review is necessary, 3 months is somewhat long? In short, now I'm getting older, I get asked to contact the surgery more often, yet the service cannot cope. I ran out of painkillers for a long term condition, and had to go without any for a period until the Doctor spoke to me. I regret joining this practice which I had to as my old doctor's surgery closed. I've always felt like an inconvenience. The standard of care and treatment has always been poor. Emergency treatment at the hospital has always been good, but the minute you are back to the surgery, you know it's going to be bad. The receptionist triage system generates an appointment with a person who cannot treat you and 5 weeks to see a doctor is frankly disgraceful. At this appointment, I've alrady been told physio will be prescribed, which if unsuccesful, will then be another delay. My problem is a long term progressive one, and I'm already very aware what helps and what does not. Physio is not a suitable treatment, but it's having a big impact. I am self-employed and receive no benefits, and not working means no income. I don't want to retire, just have some treatment, but even with the symptoms, the system has to be followed - even when the system is totally flawed. I'd strongly advise any new patients to go elsewhere - anywhere would be better than my doctors. The staff are fine, but if it takes 5 weeks to even see a doctor, when you are in pain, with totally ruined sleep patterns, that's really not good. My anger is towards the practice managers, not the reception staff and medical staff - but surely a pharmacist could ping off emails to people warning them their prescriptions are about to be stopped ahead of time, rather than letting the NHS app tell you to contact the surgery to find out why they have been stopped? That's so simple. I'm typing this in pain, bursting to go to the loo (one of my symptoms) and another 3 weeks to go before I can even explain!
