Review titled Unsympathetic and rude.

I am totally disgusted with this practice,I have had nothing but issues with getting appointments to requesting a repeat prescriptions, even when it comes down to requesting for my childs inhalour,I was rudely and unprofessionaly spoken to by the receptionist.who requested that I pjome the pharmacy then email the surgery inwich I was back and forth doing a number of times to then be told they dont know when i will get my childs inhaler, which bearing in mind I told them that my child is unwell and ran out of hes inhaler so it was urgent that he needed it as soon as possible,I cant tell you when it will be ready she replied. I am absolutely outraged with this, two days it took for the request to go through, and then when I go to pick it up from the pharmacy ,its the wrong one that I requested, its 2oclock in the afternoon and their shut so I cant even speak to anyone regarding this! Disgusting!!!!

[Apologies for the delayed response, notification of review-received was delayed in reaching us.] Dear Patient, Thanks for your feedback; unfortunately, with anonymous reviews, we aren't able to investigate or discuss with you, but you are more than welcome to get in touch if you do wish to speak about your experience with me. We ask for prescription requests in writing either via your pharmacy (or directly), to help avoid confusion and delays. We advise 48hrs for processing, though most are complete much more quickly, and certainly for urgent needs they will normally be with you the same day. I apologise that your experience has been different to this, and I will be more than happy to investigate what went wrong if you would like to get in touch with your details. Kind regards, Ivan Data & Performance Manager

Review titled Insanely frustrating

Website is absolutely baffling to use - loads of useless information on data protection but nowhere is it clear where to actually book to see a doctor. The link in their site to send a message to a doctor is broken, it baffles me that they haven't realised this a long time ago. If they actually answer the phone, which is very rare even very early in the morning, there's a huge hold time, and the attitude of the receptionist is like a parody of how bad GP receptionists can get - asking loudly about all your personal details and then telling you can have an appointment 3 weeks from now. It's absolutely mental. We've had to register at a different GP much further away to be seen.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. You have posted anonymously so I can only respond generally, but if you would like to get in touch directly we would be glad of the opportunity to investigate the experience you have had. If you do, I would be glad if you could kindly clarify the link you refer to on our website, as we successfully receive around 30 communications a day via the online query facility. Other constructive feedback on our website layout would be warmly welcomed too - there is a lot of information we need to share on it, and rarely receive any feedback on the effectiveness of this. Finally, I am sorry to hear of the experience you had on our phoneline. Despite having one the swiftest average answer-times in the locality, and call volumes having not reduced since swelling during Covid-years, we continue to work on improving access. Thanks again, and best of luck at your new practice. Kind regards, Ivan Data & Performance Manager

Review titled Fantastic support and kindness / expertise

Wonderful service from the practice pharmacist over the phone - listened carefully, was constructive and knowledgeable and efficient. Also brilliant help in getting my prescription when I needed it by lovely kind lady at Reception - she made sure my meds were available, going out of her way to get it signed off, and I am so grateful for all her support! More bouquets for the hard working staff and less brickbats - thanks so much to all involved! Kathryn xx

My daughter was diagnosed with a serious, life changing condition just over a year ago. We were at Allerton Medical Centre this morning for yet another appointment. The team at this health centre are outstanding. They care, they listen, they help. Without their support I don't know how we would have got through this last year. Thank you.

Review titled Poor Service

Called for medical assistance, told that no reply from GP was available, informed message would be referred to a GP. Would get back in touch following day. No response from anyone. Disappointing. Had to call 111 and seen by emergency Doctor, who confirmed infection and administered antibiotic.

Hi Nigel, Thanks for sharing your frustration, and I'm sorry that you felt so strongly about your experience. I can see that you spoke to our team around 5:20pm, and we close at 6pm. Unfortunately, this means we have very limited opportunity to respond to requests, as I'm sure you understand. For urgent concerns, we certainly expect to respond the following day; however, you terminated the call before our team were able to agree a plan of action with you. While General Practice isn't an emergency service, I'm very glad to hear the Out Of Hours service were able to assist you. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel welcome to contact me directly via email or call the practice. Kind regards, Ivan Data & Performance Manager

Review titled Leave if you value your health
Rated 1 star out of 5

Once a great practice, faultless, caring - A real family focused, personal feel. I actually moved house and stayed with this doctors, they were that good.. In the last few years, after being diagnosed with cancer, I hear complaint after complaint from local residents about staff here, and the complete lack of care directed to patients. This is an experience I'm all too familiar with, feeling like a burden upon the system, rather than a person seeking help. I've been continually advised by others within my community to leave this practice, irrespective of it being my nearest. It is almost impossible to get an appointment, with symptoms required to be discussed with reception staff to judge and triage, but ultimately you end up being directed to a pharmacy or walk in clinics. If you're at deaths door, that's a A&E job anyway. I just cant see where this practice fits into the system of actually helping people anymore, with the primary goal appearing to signpost to other healthcare providers. I do feel it is just a matter of time until it gets shut down if investigated. I truly hope this comments is seriously taken on board to review best practice, and help better themselves in the interest of their patients wellbeing. As a huge supporter of the NHS, it is with a heavy heart that its time to find a new GP. Simply put, I just value my health too much to put it at risk, by remaining at this GP.

Thanks for your message, and very sorry to hear about your experience. As you have submitted this anonymously I am unable to investigate the specifics directly, but I would be more than happy to discuss if you would like to get back in touch. I would wish to reassure you that although signposting is an important part of handling patient queries, clinical matters are passed to the clinical team for triage. The reason you may be asked for details of symptoms, is to help the clinician make an assessment of need priority, which has become increasingly important given the considerable demand on appointments you describe. Sometimes this may mean GP suspects a patient may need to be seen sooner than we can accommodate, at which point Walk-in-centre may be the recommendation. The intention of signposting is to help patients find the various partner services that are designed (read: funded) to remedy more specific patient groups without the traditional referral route through GP . Where general practice 'fits into the system' has certainly changed dramatically over the last 10 (or even 5) years, and we all appreciate the frustration this can cause (as patients at our own respective practices!). As I say, do get in touch if you wish, as specific cases are really helpful in identifying training and system improvements. Kind regards, Ivan Data & Performance Manager Ps., apologies for the delayed response, which follows a number of changes to staffing the last few months.

Review titled Shambles - what is happening??

2 points - 1 - after having xrays, received message to make an appointment for the following week to see Dr to discuss results. First appointment I was told was 21st Dec. That ok I was asked. Really? 2 - telephone appt made with pharmacist for 10am today. 11 am I am still waiting for the call. Rung the surgery for advise only to get recorded message that they are extremely busy and too busy to take any calls, ring back later. What is happening to this practice? Is it really fit for purpose?

Thanks for your message, and sorry to hear about your experience. As you have submitted this anonymously I am unable to investigate the specifics directly, but I would be more than happy to discuss if you would like to get back in touch. I suspect there will be some training opportunity we can identify given your description of events. In regards to the telephone appointment, we try to make clear that we can usually give a rough idea of time (ie. late morning, early afternoon etc.), but not a solid time - it sounds like this should have been made clearer. In regards our phone lines, you will hear that message if there are already several calls in the queue, which would likely mean an unreasonable wait time. I look forward to hearing from you if you wish to. Kind regards, Ivan Data & Performance Manager Ps., apologies for the delayed response, which follows a number of changes to staffing the last few months.
