Rated 5 stars out of 5

I seen the nurse today, for a regular blood test. I have deep veins and this has always been a slight problem but no problem at all for an excellent professional , thank you.

I have had to visit the surgery alot more than usual to do health reasons changing. The receptionists have been caring, the amazing lady with the beautiful curly hair who takes blood is gentle amd makes you feel at ease. The Dr's i have seen listen to my issues and get things moving for tests etc.

Review titled Phlebotomy nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tamsin - Posted on 27 February 2025
Phlebotomy nurse very professional whilst also being a friendly, personable and comforting presence. I am not personally phased by needles but have family members who are. Had they received attention from this nurse, they would be in the best possible hands. Highly recommend, no issues, barely felt a thing and had a good natter whilst having my blood drawn. Couldn't ask for more.

Nervously went for a blood test. Was quickly put at ease by the phlebotamists manner. Was reminded of how best to not faint! My blood was taken at first attempt. All good. Thank you.

I saw a nurse who took my blood for my 6 weekly blood tests. The nurse was very attentive, made me feel calm and was very approachable. I was seen on time and was very happy with everything. I have been with Alpine House for many years and highly recommend all doctors and staff there. Always treated with respect.

Review titled Poor practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Booked a blood test today for March 18th! over 6 weeks away and even offered the opportunity to hospital for it but, of course, not the local hospital but Leicester hospitals. Can't help thinking how the surgery would love everyone to go elsewhere for blood tests - it passes the buck to some other place, saves them an appointment and increases the use of hospital instead of surgery resources. Just like patients who can't get an appointment with a GP end up going to A and E.

Dear Patient, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent experience booking a blood test appointment. I understand that waiting for an appointment can be frustrating, and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. We do our best to offer appointments as soon as possible, but demand can sometimes mean longer wait times for routine blood tests. However, we do reserve appointments for urgent cases, such as cancer pathway and chemotherapy bloods, to ensure timely care for those with critical needs. I acknowledge your concern about being offered an appointment at a non-local hospital. As some hospitals do not offer blood clinic services, we try to provide alternatives, but we understand that travel can be inconvenient. I will review how we communicate these options to ensure patients are fully informed of their choices. I understand that my response is a general explanation, however, if you would like me to investigate your own personal experience, please contact me directly with your name and contact details, using the Practice secure email: alpine.house@nhs.net I would be happy to investigate this fully and provide a response to your experience. Once again, I apologise for any distress this has caused for you. Kind regards Laura Newbold Practice Manager

Review titled Terrible

After a phone call to try to book an appointment in January,I have just decided to vote with my feet - in all my life I've never had such bad service from a GP's practice. Once you finally get to see a clinician they are good but running the gauntlet of the endless hanging on the phone, the rude people who then answer and then to have them admit they are not clinical and challenge me when I am clinically trained is beyond the limit. I am so glad to be leaving this practice behind.

Providing high-quality care and a positive patient experience is our priority, and I regret that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Review titled Great attentive service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mark Poulson - Posted on 19 December 2024
Had an appointment in mid November to look at a troublesome mole on my forehead. Saw a Doctor via the online booking system which was surprisingly quick and easy to use. Mole was identified as good for removal and analysis for anything sinister. Had an appointment come through for a minor operation to be done at the surgery within two weeks. Operation carried out with little fuss, two weeks on from operation you wouldn't know I had a mole there. When all we here how poor the NHS is, just wanted to share my very positive experience at this very well run practice.
