    I was seen by a doctor in the afternoon of the same day that I telephoned. He took a full history and listened attentively to my description of my ailment. He then gave me a thorough examination and discussed possible treatment options with me. We agreed on a course of drug therapy and he also gave me a link for self-referral for physiotherapy - sadly there is a 4-6 week wait time for such support, but that is outside the control of the practice I have always found the whole team at Alrewas very approachable and helpful

    my husband wasn’t at his best for a couple of days so he decided to see the doctor which moved to alrewas last year and not once been able to see the doctor. This morning 17/9/24 due to the matter he wanted to see the doctor when the alrewas receptionist said their is no appointments available and to go to A@E so me and my husband went to the burton A@E sat their for several hours got seen by the medical staff and was advised to go straight to our doctors and get appointment when we got to alrewas doctors both ladies on the desk said their is no appointments( we’re is the duty of care in this approach and said to ring in the morning when the patient needs to be seen and went to the hospital in the morning. pls advice on this matter because it’s not really a duty of care if you turn the patient away and was very worried the ladies on the desk really need to be aware sometimes when a patient is in need!

    Managed to get a face-to-face appointment with a doctor (that's always the hard part) to discuss my hip. She quickly arranged a referral for an X-ray, then when I mentioned that I was going deaf, she checked my ears for wax and gave me another referral for a hearing test. Brilliant - two problems that I had been putting off! I was also very impressed with her communication skills.

    I and my family always receive excellent service at the Alrewas practice and today was no exception . I attended the minor injuries clinic and was treated with such respect and professionalism . Every element of the procedure was clearly explained and I was very quickly put at ease. I left the surgery feeling confident that the procedure was successful and will eliminate the pain I have had. Thank you once again for the excellent service . I feel so lucky to have service available in the village.

    After calling 303 times before getting through to the phone waiting list. The receptionist said they were to capacity that day but was extremely helpful and said to call back at 9.30 to try and get an appointment at another surgery. Due to my job a later call would be difficult but she helped to make this possible and when I later called back she knew my name and had already booked me an appointment for a time I told her I could make. She was an absolute star and I’m very grateful as I was able to attend an appointment and receive the appropriate prescription. I had gone from being incredibly frustrated by the system then reminded it’s the people who make the NHS. Thank you to the very helpful lady on the phone!

    If you have veins that don’t really want to give any blood for testing it can be a painful experience. But then you book in with the phlebotomist at the surgery and Wow! She has never failed me. Thank you so much for making the experience relaxed and successful.

    I just wanted to say how much I value having you all as my local GP. I had an appointment today at 11.20am with the doctor (sorry as always I am rubbish in remembering) and as always the whole process and attention from the staff is amazing. From booking to reception, the nurses, doctors - it really makes a difference when you know they care. And my need was sensitive and was dealt with great empathy. I can imagine with COVID plus modern living there is a huge stress on your workload so again thank you for helping.

    This Surgery has gone downhill recently,no hope of getting an Appointment.I am now going to pay to be seen privately as I cannot wait when I have a problem that needs attention!!Always told to call back the next day,it really isn’t good enough.

    Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service we provide. We constantly review our appointments system and have increased the number of clinical appointments in the last year. However demand has increased significantly and whilst we aim to meet this demand, we also do have a maximum number of appointments our clinicians can deal with to ensure clinical safety. Appointments are available on the day and can also be booked in the future. This can be done online or via the surgery reception team. We also provide patients with information and other options where this is appropriate to the patient's query or concerns. Our reception team works to instructions provided by our clinical team to provide these options. Please be assured that access to appointments, information and other services available is under constant review.     Just moved into the area with my husband, son & granddaughter. Immediately welcomed when enquiring how to register by the efficient & lovely staff on the front desk. They managed to get my granddaughter for her 12 month vaccinations very quickly after registering. I have recently had stage 2 melanoma skin cancer and needed to see a doctor on another matter but whilst I was there the doctor checked my lymph nodes which were incidentally raised. The doctor was thorough, kind and approachable, first impressions really do count! The doctor wanted to see me for a follow in 3 weeks and booked this on the computer straight away, even supplying me with the appointment details on a sticky note as a reminder for my fridge / diary. This is something at my old practice would never have happened ~ I would have had to go back into reception & ask for a follow up appointment to which they would say phone on the day. This would result in me being ‘caller number 67’ at 8am then all appointments would have gone for the day & would have to start this process each day, sometimes for several days (way past when the doctor would want to see me again). So this is a lovely welcoming & reassuring way to see the same doctor, a small thing but really makes a difference to worried patients. Whenever I or my family have phoned we’ve been ‘caller number 1’ in the queue which is such a refreshing change! Cannot fault the staff & service in this practice … so glad I found you! Keep up the good work.
