Review titled Rubbish GP

Honestly what a complete joke no appointment for 3 weeks and that’s for a telephone appointment after explaining I need treatment now and in 3 weeks time it would have cleared up to be told to go to A&E (it’s not an A&E problem) honestly what a complete joke

Review titled A mistake on the Ultrasound appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 August 2024
I had a consultation in June 2024, the doctor told me to wait for a letter for an ultrasound appointment, probably would arrive in 4 weeks. I received the letter in late August 2024. I called the Radiology Dept., and the person on the phone said my appointment was cancelled. I complaint that the letter came late, anyways, I had to make a new consultation appointment again. The communication of Lewisham hospital and Amersham Vale Practice is a mess.

Review titled Thank you!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sophie - Posted on 26 July 2024
I love Amersham Vale practice. Each time I visit I am treated with so much respect and care I’m honestly blown away. I’ve been with this practice for 8 years and am usually seen by different Doctors but they are so lovely and patient I can’t really thank you enough. I’m really grateful for all of your hard work, including the lovely reception staff. Today I attended an appointment for a concern I was quite worried about, I called up yesterday and was given an appointment straight away. After seeing the GP and finding that I was okay I apologised for wasting their time (I don’t usually book Dr appointments). However the Dr was incredibly kind and instead asked how I was doing in general and we used a couple of extra minutes to check on existing health concerns I have. I never expected this and it felt truly above and beyond what they had to do.

Review titled Horrendous

This is a mockery of a GP service. Appalling communication, unreliable services, zero accountability. Forget common sense, courtesy, humility when dealing with this establishment.

Review titled Excellent practice, but questionable registration policy.
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Christopher Downes - Posted on 21 July 2023
Fortunately I've only had to contact the practice twice, once for a sick note and again for a referral to another part of the trust. On both occasions my query was resolved swiftly by the surgery and any contact with staff was warm, friendly, and efficient. My issue is having my registration being rendered "inactive" from disuse - I have never had this with any of the five practices across the United Kingdom I've been with previously. I was only made aware of it when the organisation following up on the referral made by the practice informed me that I was not registered with the practice who made the referral. At no point did the practice advise me that this could occur, or inform me when my registration was going to fall "inactive". After contacting the practice I was politely advised to re-register (despite all the details on my now-inactive registration still being valid), and in future to "call every 1-2 months to retain your registration" which seems like an absurd waste of time for National Health Service staff dealing with the inbound calls.

Dear Christopher Downes, Thank you for sharing your response. I have investigated this. Firstly I apologise for the information that was shared with you. 1) We do not just deregister someone without reason 2) We do not encourage someone to call every 1-2 months to keep their records active. On looking at your records you joined another GP practice in November 2022, locally, which is why you are no longer a patient with our practice. We did not remove you. If you would like to re-join our practice, please visit https://www.amershamvale.co.uk/new-patient-registration Thank you for bringing this to our attention; I will discuss with the individual who took the phone call and with the team to remind them on how deduction processes works. However, if you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to call the practice and ask for me. Thank you David Deputy Practice Manager

Review titled Not great
Rated 1 star out of 5
by A.Eversley - Posted on 19 June 2023
I have been trying to get an appointment to speak/see a GP and can never seem to get one before 3 or 4 weeks. I think it is not right if you need to see a GP urgently and have to wait that long I should not have to go private for medical help. Please bring back the online appointments booking system where patients who work can get appointments. I am very dissapointed with this surgery.

Review titled Trying to make an appointment on AskNHS doesn't work
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Ann Brandon - Posted on 09 June 2023
I have just spent over an hour trying to make an appointment online. It takes ages to navigate, I was sent all over the place, at one time I got connected to the wrong pages on a private company's website that promoted and sold their system, screens came up with text on top of text so it was almost impossible to read and answer the questions, I agreed to have selfcare info and got connected to another company's website that was difficult to navigate, promoted itself and asked me to create an account. I logged back to a different AskNHS avatar requesting an appointment, answered lots of questions and, as requested I described all my symptoms and then finally the avatar said there were no appointments and quickly said "Goodbye". My browser crashed.
