    I have never had an experience that is simple and straightforward with this GP surgery. You can't get through on the telephone, can't get an appointment. Most of all the prescription service is appalling. The communication about when prescriptions can be picked up is terrible, I've been several times and the prescription is either incomplete or not ready meaning I need to return on a different day. A prime example of this happened today where there has been miscommunication between professionals and the onus was put on us as the patient to sort the problem out by acting as a go between. Not acceptable. Their communication between other parts of the NHS (e.g., midwifery) and the surgery is truly awful, leading to delays and errors. I'm sure all of this is typical in many GPs in 2025 where the NHS is now not fit for purpose anymore, but the worst aspect is the lack of care and respect shown by the staff when there are problems. Their demeanor is at best 'not my fault' and uncaring/dismissive, and at worst sometimes their demeanor is downright antagonistic and belligerent. If I could opt out of paying for the NHS through national insurance and putting this money towards private healthcare instead, I would. This is not healthcare anymore.

    I received an arranged telephone in the time slot given to me. The nurse and I discussed my diet and she gave me a lot of advice as to what to eat and what not to eat. She also sent me, by email, advice in great detail which I am finding very useful. This nurse had time for me and answered a few questions Throughout this call her voice was clear and patient. I could not have expected a better call. Thank you

    Needing injections for holiday travel we followed the timescale set by the practice but still were given a date outside of the limit for travel. The practice then cancelled those appointments citing staff illness. The injections are now even later with no explanation of why they took so long to organise in the first place. Of course the receptionist was not bothered. When I asked to speak to someone about this I was told that you had to writeto someone to complain. Of course you do, let's make it as difficult as possible. What a service!!!!!

    If you decide to move to this practice I would strongly advice against ringing the Armthorpe Surgery. I required some medication urgently (I have a serious medical condition) that was previously prescribed by my consultant who advised me to contact my GP for repeat prescriptions. I decided to call the Armthorpe telephone number instead of Auckley for a change as I always struggle to get through which I will never do again. The person I spoke to was very abrupt and kept interrupting me whilst I was attempting to explain that, when this has happened previously, the office staff have looked up the letter from my consultant advising that I need this medication and passed a note to the GP who then sent the prescription through without the need for an appointment. The person I spoke to said that I would need an appointment or call back from a GP and the next available call back was on the 19th May which was obviously unacceptable! I tried to explain again and was again abruptly cut off (please feel free to find the recording of this conversation as evidence!) and told I would need to ring at 8 each morning until I could get an appointment. As I was working the following 2 days (and travelling to work on the motorway at 8am) I couldn't call until this morning. I rang the Auckley surgery today and received their usual helpful response that they would show the GP my letter and I was unlikely to need a call back or appointment (thank you!). Never contacting the Armthorpe branch again - when you are suffering from a medical condition the last thing you need is additional stress! Again - thank you Auckley reception!
