An otherwise excellent practice but has dap short as a result of an IT glitch which acknowledged an econsult with a unique reference but, upon contacting the surgery as no call received, shocked to discover no record of my econsult on their system! I telephoned and spoke to a representative, who deserves an award, who was extremely helpful and noted my concerns and assured me I would be contacted as a result of speaking to her. I downloaded copies of my econsult and answers I provided along with automated response to ensure that the practices has a copy for their records as it is essential that there is no gap in my string of econsults in respect of my current ongoing issues which require an urgent double hip replacement... confirmed by my consultant.

Feeling helpless, like my anxiety was taking over my life and after years of trying to control my anxiety on my own, I finally admitted I needed help and went to the doctors. I spoke with a wonderful dr and I don’t think I could have been given a more calm, understanding and reassuring one. I wasn’t made to feel shame or guilt for asking for help. Rather, I was made to feel in control of my choices, a range of help offered and a listening ear. I’m sure his day is filled with stress and time pressures but there wasn’t a single moment where he made those stresses known to me. It was as if he had all the time in the world to listen to my concerns. Please pass on my enormous gratitude to this Dr. I can’t name him in this review but I hope this reaches him. He really has enabled such a positive change on my daily life!

I saw my GP as follow up to hospital treatment, which involved a fall with head and neck injuries. The GP went through the longish list of issues and explained most pragmatic actions which would be suitable for me. Discussed in a mature friendly way which made me feel valued and important to the GP. I appreciate this appreciate this approach and we agreed to meet up again so all the outstanding issues could be resolved. Focused attention and realistic time scales. What’s not to like?

Ongoing pain, I saw the lady nurse for a smear as I am in excruciating pain. Colon/gynaecological concern. I am So very grateful for the gentle kind professionalism of this exceptional nurse. A huge thank you. You all do the very best for the NHS at Ascot medical centre.

I received a cat bite and was referred by practice to Brant’s Bridge where I was treated immediately. Two days later the bite became infected. The GP spoke to me and saw me within half and hour. He carried out all necessary tests, reassured me and put me on a further course of antibiotics with instructions to go to A&E if it did not improve. You can ask for no better response from your GP. Ascot Medical Centre will always be the best!

I telephoned the practice to set up online access to order repeat prescriptions on behalf my elderly mother-in-law. The man I spoke with on the prescribing team was so helpful, kind and super- patient during what became a very lengthy phone call because of the IT complexities. Thank you!
