  1. Review titled Frustrating and no appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 January 2023

I am new to the practice. I continually get texts on my phone asking me to take part in surveys. My phone is not Wi-Fi so I can’t. I have a tablet for emails but reception ignore my requests for email, so I can’t win. Have struggled to try to get app but still unable to use. I get confused and find this upsetting. No appointments at all. I recently had a chest infection and had to go to 111 for help getting a call back for antibiotic. Very frustrating and not user friendly.

  2. Review titled terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Terrible services, the receptionists have a sign saying they won't tolerate abuse? They are the most heartless people i have heard handling calls... talk about customer service you need new staff. No sympathy nothing and work in healthcare sector? joke Going to be making a formal complaint and taking this all further. Can never get appointments ask to ring at a certain time never anything left. Service has just been going downhill with this practise.

  3. Review titled Terrible practice

I myself am a nurse & can’t even begin to explain how disappointed I am in this surgery. The receptionists are incredibly rude & unhelpful. It’s impossible to even get through, for the past two weeks I have been ready to call before 0800am & as soon as it rings I am cut off and told to call back later. I call back & there’s no appointments. Very unhelpful & rude I have no idea how they function or provide a service to people when they can’t even get the basics right.

  4. Review titled Impossible to see a Doctor or Nurse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 October 2022

I am supposed to have monthly B12 injections, I am also recovering from Cancer and have autoimmune disease. I have missed 4 months of injections as there are never any appointments and the receptionist refuses to help. I am now feeling very unwell! My son had surgery 10 days ago and needed daily dressing changes for 6 weeks, surgery refused to release appointments even with a letter from the hospital. Now have to drive to St Helier every single day for a simple dressing change absolutely furious. Father-in-Law breaks his should 2 weeks ago, still he cannot get an appointment, he has phoned every day! they will see him end of November. Tried to put in a prescription for urgent pain relief took 7 days for them to write out a script. Refusing to give him his sick note as can only do with a Dr's appointment but refuse to give him an appointment. It's such a shame as this used to be a fantastic surgery and if you win the lottery and actually get to see your Dr they are very good. Receptionists need sacking and the whole surgery needs an urgent overall before somebody gets seriously hurt by their incompetence to provide care.

  5. Review titled Extremely poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 October 2022

I have been trying to get an appointment both via phone and Livi app but since last 1 month have been unsuccessful. No one answers calls and it will cut you off with a default message saying call again , have tried at 8 am and 12.30 pm . I have emailed practice and they keep asking me to call . Impossible to get an appointment and can never get a face to face appointment. Service was good till 2021 and had always got appointments but since then has deteriorated beyond belief . Very unhelpful now .

  6. Review titled Distressing and exhausting GP experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2022

Booked a t/c appt with trusted female GP regarding two new and very personal female issues.
So happy to have got her.
Followed up this booking with a footfall message about my problem as I’m so embarrassed to speak about it. Admin advised me just to make her aware of the message when I get her call back.
I wait.
4 hrs later - Male GP calls me! I’m completely blindsided by that and very embarrassed. Ask to speak to Dr I’d booked. Gets irritated immediately with me. I’m so embarrassed. He repeats that he doesn’t know anything about this booking, he was just been asked to call me. He says I can’t ask for a particular doctor, that’s not how it works. But that’s untrue. That is how it works. I repeat I’d like my appointment with Dr I’d booked. He says I need to call and make an appointment with her. I say I did. He says there’s no record. Eventually he lets me know that the manager specifically asked him to call me. No explanation as to why. Since when does the practice manager book your doctor for you? Last year I had a very upsetting consultation with this male doctor when I was very unwell. I feel very nervous around him. Would never ask to speak to him. Later, another different female GP calls me back. I refer her to the content of my footfall message but she says she doesn’t have access to that. She tells me Dr I’d booked with is not in today, she has gone home for the day. I’m actually at the practice by this time and see I this doctor there while other doctor is on the phone to me. Dr says that if I want a t/c with Dr I’d booked with, then I have to ring up and book that. I say I did that. She’s says she has no information about that! Gaslighting. Back to the start. So awful. All the warmth that my long-standing previous male GP brought has gone since he retired last year. They have a very defensive structure. Layers of barriers that just caused me harm. They don’t seem accountable to us. Very sad.

  7. Review titled Disappointed, again

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 August 2022

Following previous reviews on this site, I would also like to say the doctors and nurses are really great and professional. The reception team are extremely unhelpful to the point of uncooperative. I have been helping my daughter sort out an appointment for a urine infection.  She called, as requested, first thing this morning and managed to get an appointment with a doctor who was extremely helpful and asked her to take in a urine sample immediately, which she did.   The doctor said she would call her at 1pm with the results of a dip test. 1pm came and went, so my daughter called this afternoon and was told by reception that she would have to wait 48 hours for test results, bearing in mind we have the long weekend ahead of us.  When I got in from work we decided to go to the surgery and find out if my daughter could find out what the results were and hopefully get some antibiotics as she was in a lot of pain and discomfort, but we were told we would have to wait for the results, or call again tomorrow morning at 8am or 12.30pm for another appointment.  We explained that my daughter works in a shop and had to work tomorrow - a long shift covering the hours of the opening hours of the surgery.  The answer was 'If you were that unwell you wouldn't be going to work'  A totally unacceptable way to speak to a young person.  Not everyone has all the time in the world to make appointments in person or hang on the phone for what seems like hours.  Eventually, after a lot of discussion between us and the receptionist, we were told that a note would be left for the doctor. She actually called within half an hour and apologised. Apparently the urine sample had not been given to her and therefore had not even been tested.  All of this conversation was being heard by other patients in the waiting room.  No confidentiality at all.  I haven't even got to the blood test results my daughter is waiting for ... initially another 2 week wait for results and after almost begging, now just over a week. Absolutely disgraceful. The lovely doctor's practice I have been a patient of for 55 years is a shambles. Please, please do something about this awful situation to help your loyal patients.

  8. Review titled Nightmare trying to see an actual doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Unhappy Patient - Posted on 19 August 2022

Firstly can I say that the doctors are really lovely and professional. The reception team are the standard moody and unhelpful kind that you find in all gp practices. Trying to get an appointment with an actual gp is basically impossible. I have to wait 4 weeks just for a telephone appointment with my gp otherwise I am told I need to call everyday at 8am or 1230pm or attend the practice in person at these times to get an appointment on the day. This is a ridiculous expectation for most people who work full time. What has happened to online booking capabilities??? This surgery is so behind and outdated in its service user functions between the surgery and its patients and really needs modernisation in its processes, Fast. I needed a private referral letter recently and had to attend the surgery to collect a paper copy of it...........its not 1980, you can send password protected documents via secure Nhs email. Confidentiality is not maintained in that large open waiting area. You can hear everything patients are talking about at reception from personal details to medical details. At least play a radio or tv, any background noise. I really had high expectations of this surgery when it moved to its new home, but it seems to have just gotten worse.

  9. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2022

It’s almost impossible to get through to the practice to book any appointments. When you do manage to get through, they tell you to call back later as their appointments only open at 12:30pm. Calling back is a nightmare because the phone lines are flooded and they just end the call! When are practices going to open their doors again to patients?! Unreal and unacceptable.
