  1. Review titled Very unorganised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Joanne Wilde - Posted on 17 April 2025

Booked an appt for 9.30 with mental health team, confirmation txt received, but on checking patient access it said appt 9.30 to 5, rang practice to check it wasn’t a phone appt only to be told my appt was 10.30. When I asked how I’m supposed to know was told I will receive a txt on the day which I didn’t not receive but had already booked time off work for 9.30 appt. Upon arriving for the 10.30 appt checked in for system to tell me I had missed my 9.30 appt so had to go to reception to be told that system is wrong and I hadn’t missed my appt, very unorganised. Same for my next appt, received txt advising 9.15 but patient access again says 9.30-5 on the day

Dear Mrs Wilde Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, and we're very sorry for the confusion and frustration caused around your appointment times. We understand how important it is to have clear and accurate information, especially when planning around work and managing mental health. It sounds like there was a breakdown in communication between the booking system, text confirmations, and Patient Access, and we completely appreciate how frustrating this must have been. We will work with our digital provider to prevent this kind of discrepancy from happening again. Your feedback has been shared with the management and IT teams to help improve the process going forward. Kind Regards Mr C Hayhurst Assistant Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Appalling - unable to book a doctors appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 April 2025

It is appalling that you are unable to phone and book an appointment with a doctor. Basically the Doctor decides via a form whether they will see you and they get 48 hours to decide! Being told to go to a&e or phone 111 is no doubt having a huge impact on these services purely because you have no way of seeing a doctor unless they want to see you. Sickness for 6 days, unable to keep food down, severe stomach pain in the right hand side and a request from the A&E visits over the last month to see a doctor to get a referal and still unable to get in front of a doctor! It's appalling. Waiting on scan results with the feedback from the receptionist that the doctor has them and you have to wait, 5 days later. I've never experienced anything like a system that effectively cuts you off from seeing a doctor. Disgusting process.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear about your recent experience and fully appreciate how distressing it must be to feel unwell and not receive the care you expect in a timely manner. Our current system aims to ensure that every patient receives the most appropriate care as quickly as possible, based on clinical need. When a patient submits a request, our clinicians review the information provided to determine the most suitable next step whether that be an appointment, further investigations, or signposting to a more urgent care pathway like A&E or 111. This process helps us prioritise urgent issues and make sure those with the greatest need are seen promptly. That said, we understand how frustrating it can be when you're in pain or concerned about ongoing symptoms and are waiting for a referral or results. We sincerely apologise if communication around your scan results and follow-up has not met your expectations. We will take your comments on board to review how we can improve clarity and timeliness in keeping patients informed. If you are still waiting to speak to a GP or need further assistance, please contact the practice directly, we would be happy to look into your case personally and help move things forward. Your health and wellbeing are important to us, and we appreciate your feedback as an opportunity to improve. Kind Regards Mr C Hayhurst Assistant Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Booking an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2025

The hours that you can book an appointment on are ridiculous. I’m a student who’s currently in highschool and I wanted to get check out by the doctor for asthma so I asked my father to book me an appointment because I can’t use my phone in school and the receptionist tells my father that I either need to be present or I need to call myself to book an appointment. So I do exactly as I’m told but obviously I can’t book it because it’s out of the working hours. So I tell the receptionist that I’m a student and I don’t have time to book my own appointments and she just gives me attitude saying that I just need to ask my school to let me do it and that a form literally just takes 2 minutes to complete. I feel like there were way better ways to phrase this and she could have helped in resolving the situation a little better. These hours need to be fixed for students like me who do not have time to call and make appointments to see a doctor.

  4. Review titled Wonderful Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Submitting the online form was simple. I received a call within 24 hours for an appointment to see a doctor, 24 hours later I visited the doctor face to face who prescribed me the antibiotics I needed. Within 48 hours I collected my prescription from the pharmacy. This is by far my best experience with this practice

  6. Review titled Wonderful practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Amanda Turner - Posted on 22 November 2024

Having recently feeling unwell, I sent in a request for an appointment and fit note. The service from every member of staff, from the receptionist who was quick to reply to my initial on line request , the Dr who sent a message about support services and who at the practice could support me and the mental health practitioner who has been outstanding with his support and guidance. The whole team actually going above and beyond and calling to follow up that I’m doing my ok, well done and a huge thank you. Unfortunately I cannot put the names of staff to ensure they are recognised but I will follow this up with a thank you card.

  7. Review titled Poor receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2024

I have a regular appointment to see a councillor (for clarification, not medical staff). A week ahead of my appointment I realised I would be unable to attend and phoned to reschedule. The receptionist told me no appointment was booked for me and in any case the person concerned wasn't in on that date. I know this to be incorrect. She refused to pass on a message. I was told the only way to rearrange was to go through the online triage system. A week later I noticed the appt I had tried to cancel was showing on my patient access record. And no doubt I have been recorded as a No Show. After giving this some thought, I wonder if the receptionist had been looking at the wrong date on the computer system. Of course no one ever admits to making mistakes do they.

I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment, took time off work, only to be told while I was waiting for an appointment that they cannot see me as the doctor/nurse assigned to me only dealt with children. They wouldn't book me in for an appointment on the same day and now have had to wait a week and more time off from work for this. I don't belive the process should take 1 month to get an appointment.

Dear Patient, Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused. We understand how valuable your time is, and it is unacceptable that you were informed at the last minute that the assigned doctor or nurse was not the right fit for your appointment. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide. Your experience highlights an area we need to improve, particularly in ensuring that appointments are properly matched to the appropriate healthcare professional and that any issues are addressed well in advance. We regret that this caused you additional time off work and an extended wait for another appointment. We are working hard to reduce waiting times and improve our appointment system to ensure that patients can be seen as promptly as possible. If you would like to discuss this further or need any assistance with your upcoming appointment, please don't hesitate to contact our team directly. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work on improving our service. Kind regards, Mr C Hayhurst Assistant Practice Manager

Nearly everything I ring the practice I am not able to book an appointment for urgent matter and told to go to the hospital. Even when seen by the doctor there I end up going to the hospital. I think they increase the load on the hospital service which is already overloaded.
