Needed bloods and BP doing. Bloods flagged by St.James, Leeds, one showed that medication needs adjusting. Phoned the practice, there was a 3 week wait for bloods. Booked appointment, given 8.20am. Morning of blood test I received a text message at 8.03am to inform me that tests cancelled due to staff sickness. 17 minutes notice with a taxi almost at my house. I phoned the practice and was told that a message was sent last night but that I would not have received it until this morning due to the practice being closed!! given another appointment in 3 weeks time with no alternative offered. Just not good enough so I had to ask if I could go to Stamford House, got an evening appointment there in just over a weeks time. If someone has been waiting for 3 weeks already then there must be someone else available to do a blood test. Just a very low standard of care with no consideration for patients health.

Dear patient, We are saddened to see you are displeased with our service this isn't the service we strive for,however staff sickness while an inconvenience which can cause patients upset and distress is something that is very hard to plan ahead for although we try to contact those patients affected as quickly as possible offering an alternativeappointment,we as a practice are very sorry that in your case you where not contacted sooner and will use your feedback to help inform service improvements and overall patient contact. Trying to get hold of anyone is ridiculous. They may try to call you but trying to get back hold of them. Waste of time. Try it and see what you think.

book appointment for home visit today was showing on my computer so waited in for the nurse .Everyone can guess nobody arrived .I phoned the practice and they tell me it was not an appointment it was just a planning review for them ,Never heard anything so stupid in all my life does anything get better

Tried to book an online consult at 12:15, system shuts off after 12 and won't reopen until Monday at 8am. Called the practice, all the pre-recorded messages say the 'easiest way' to book an appointment is via online consult (well that would have to be working) not the 'only way' to book an appointment. Spoke to receptionist who took my name & date of birth and then asked why I wanted to see a doctor, who then said I can't book an appointment over the phone, you need to use online consult, I can't it isn't open and if you can't why are you asking me my details!!! Genuinely it was hard enough to get an appointment before the practice merger now it's almost impossible. Dreadful patient experience.

Rang to get an appointment 5th in queue. Eventually got through only to be told the practice doesn't take appointments by phone. Suggested filling in online consult which was not available or alternatively go to the walk in centre. No duty of care to patients, appaling communication. No organisation or structure. Different rules depending on what day you call. Some (not all) very rude staff. Why is it my partners practice offers same day appointments, 2 weekly appointments and excellent communication via email and text..... off I go to change practices. I feel so sorry for the elderly and vulnerable who may not have the capacity to go online. bad practice bad practise

Can’t make appointment on the phone have to fill out an online consult only they have had too many of them today by 3.30 so can’t do that till 8am next day. Told its 111 or walk in if it’s urgent. Then you have to wait 48hrs for a call back. Hoping to move my children asap as I need to be able to have confidence in being able to see a doctor.

Practise is shocking and an embarrassment 1) you can’t book an appointment via phone 2) online forms are not always available 3) you request specific availability regarding callback times, takes over 48 hours to hear back and don’t call you back at suitable time resulting in another form needing to be filled out

Relevant information is not being passed amongst staff so when they cancel appointments, not the patient cancelling, front line staff are not informed and therefore cannot inform the patient in a professional manner. Common-sense is totally lacking and staff appear to be intransigent about moving away from "scripted" responses. It was not like this before the surgeries amalgamated.

I called in to make a couple of appointments this morning. It's usually a tense experience as I'm deaf and use both lipreading and British Sign Language to help me communicate. On this occasion I was helped by a volunteer in reception who uses BSL and was able to help me book the appointments without any frustration or embarrassment. She usually volunteers Monday and Friday but I was lucky she was there today (Wednesday). I'd just like to say that it made my experience so much better and I'm happy to have been able to communicate with a BSL user at the practice. Since the BSL Act was passed in parliament last year the Deaf community has seen very little improvement in improving access across all services. Although the lady who helped me was not a qualified interpreter she really improved my experience and helped tremendously. Please continue to improve the access to your service for the Deaf community. It's much appreciated!
