Review titled Horrible Experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jigar - Posted on 28 March 2025
I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and poor communication from this GP practice regarding a simple form I needed completed for my private medical insurance. I attended an appointment with an Dr at the practise, who advised me to leave the form at reception for him to fill out. At no point was I told there would be a charge for this. I was later contacted and told I needed to book another appointment with a different doctor just to get the form filled in, which I was not originally informed of. Again, no mention was made about any cost. Eventually, I was contacted and told the form had been completed — but only then was I informed there was a fee attached. This was never mentioned at any stage beforehand. This whole process caused unnecessary delays and frustration. Had the practice clearly communicated the cost upfront, I would have made an informed decision and expected a basic standard of service. I hope the practice improves its communication with patients going forward, as situations like this can add stress at a time when patients are already trying to manage their health. To make matters worse, when I went to the reception to make the payment and collect the form, I was told to return the next day because the person handling it had already left. This caused further unnecessary delays and wasted my time. On top of this, I was told the payment could only be made in cash — which I found unacceptable in this day and age, particularly at an NHS GP practice.

Dear Jigar Thank you for your feedback. Upon reviewing the matter with the reception team, it appears that the form in question was not yet collected so not sure about your statement of having to make another visit to the practice. Filling out insurance forms can be time-consuming for our clinicians, and I want to clarify that this service falls outside the scope of free NHS care. I’m sorry if this wasn’t communicated clearly to you beforehand. However, we do provide notice of which services are considered non-NHS work and their associated fees. If you need any further clarification or assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I went to see my GP for some symptoms. Got the appointment on the same day and was seen by the GP who was very good and made a referral for me to go and see a consultant. Very happy with the GP's knowledge and efficiency

Review titled Really bad practice

I went for my mom to get her an appointment because she was really sick and couldn’t leave the house. I asked for a quick appoint for today or tomorrow and the Lady at the reception didn’t even let me finish talk she was talking in a rude way to me telling me there is no appointment until like 6 days - it was an emergency. After I told her that she told me to go to the hospital if it is an emergency but the hospital told me to go to the GP but she didn’t even listen. Really rude staff they don’t listen to what you have to say and if u need an appointment as early as possible you won’t get one and they don’t even try to help you. You will get appointment when it’s too late -basically when you’re healthy and after you helped your self out without their help. I really don’t know why they work at a GP if they are not ready to help people. Really bad practice!

Review titled Clueless staff

Called to ask about the temporary resident registration as I have a painful issue that I needed to see a GP about while I’m living away from permanent residence for a few weeks. Staff was completely unaware that there is a form for it on their website and that there even is such a thing even though the website states there is. When asked about it, the staff put me on hold thrice and still had the same answer and basically said idk come and ask the staff as if I have the time to do this unsuccessfully after work while needing medical care. Dumb and clueless way of speaking. Extremely bad service.

If I need a prescription to go to an laternative pharmacy as a matter of urgency or even to just change it, as per the God of NHS at reception who knows everything about NHS and thier regulations, in her domain you have to go in and fill out a form. Letting the NHS down, every modern day medical centre you can just do it over the phone or online. I advised that temporarily I am out of the area so need me repeat sent here, she advised that I am out the catchment area nad would need to find a nother GP, but the NHS website says different. If you value your health do not go here and the money you have paid in taxes. Do Not Go Here. The receptionist thinks shes a doctor.
