    The times of day for various services is ridiculous. It seems to be designed to stop you calling. You can't book appointments online as never any available. I've just finished the 4th time in 6 months of being on hold to get routine cervical screening booked. No wonder so many get to n stage or don't want to book its impossible if you are employed full time to book.

    Dear Patient We are very sorry to read the problems experienced in contacting the Practice. We have increased our appointments available via our online services and these include cervical screening appointments (some of these are late afternoon or early evening). We release appointments each day and if you have still not been able to make a suitable appointment, please can you try again. Our Receptionists will also be able to help if you would prefer to telephone the Practice.

    I have been struggling to sort out my elderly father’s pills and was going round and round in circles not getting anywhere. The two receptionist I spoke to when I came in were so helpful and eventually they sorted it. Thank you so much - I can’t tell you how much it helped a stressed carer.

    Just had a really great telephone appointment with one of the female Drs at the Barcroft to amend my HRT. (Although the male Drs have also been very good in the past including putting me on HRT in the first place). She was very knowledgeable and understanding and what great service. The practice is extremely busy at the moment but all staff are helpful, friendly and professional -Receptionists, Nurses and Doctors. Thank you for all you are doing. Well done NHS

    Managed to make a phone consultation on line .in two weeks time. After had to make an appointment for blood test , made it online again for a week later,Had a text saying needed another blood test and another phone consultation with doctor. After 45 minutes waiting on the phone managed to get appointment for second blood test but no appointment for phone consultation, told to ask at reception when I went for the second blood test. Reception said no appointment and should wait till after 10 or book online. Once again no appointments for any doctors online Only nurses . How on earth do you get to speak with a doctor let along see one. Every time I need to phone surgery it is always 45mins to an hour wait on the phone.

    After speaking to a GP through 111, I was told that I needed to see a specialist but I had to be referred by my own GP. I tried to make an appointment after a 45 minute wait but the closest one was almost a month away!! (2nd November) unless I wanted to try after 10 in the morning or 2pm when I am at work (driving most of the time) I was also told I could use their website to book, again at times when I'm not available. I spoke to a GP at Barcroft about this issue when it came up a few months ago who asked me to provide a sample which came back clear. Now that it's returned, they want me to provide yet another sample which will probably also come back clear and it won't help to diagnose my issue which is something I am very concerned about! What I need, is to see a specialist (please) but I feel like Barcroft don't care about you if you are generally healthy and of a certain age. I feel like I have no other choice than to move to a different practice just to get to see the right person for my issue!! All I want is a referral and I will be out of their way. The NHS in general is the best, Barcroft is the worst of all things ever! Also why do the receotionists need details they are not medical professionals that is what the GP/Nurse is for.

    Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to read the details in your comment. We would be pleased if you could come and speak to us about this as we do want to help you. We are experiencing reduced availability cover for long-term GP sickness and meeting the high demand for healthcare. Our Receptionists are working hard to help you and will ask for information from patients because we also have other healthcare professionals working at the Practice, who work alongside the GPs. Our telephone lines are very busy and it may take time to get through, perhaps using the 'Ask a Receptionist a Question' via our website might be more useful. To reassure you, your comment will be fed back within the Practice as we continue to develop our service.

    Impossible to book an appointment, I do not have an urgent requirement to see a doctor but was told I could have a 10 minute phone call at a random time in 4 weeks' time. I waited for 28 minutes on the phone to receive that information as the online booking system has no appointments listed - apparently appointments are released in the middle of the night so patients are encouraged to log on in the early hours. As I cannot sleep at the moment I might give it a try!

    Thank you for leaving your feedback and we are sorry to read of the difficulties you are having with booking an appointment. You can now book appointments, request medication and view your health record via our online services, or within the NHS App (please go to your App Store to download the App). You may find this helpful where our telephones are so busy. We currently have clinicians away with sickness or on holiday but we are working hard to help our patients. We appreciate your understanding at this time.
